• Berat Castle - The tour begins at the Castle of Berat. The Kala fortress is a grand castle perched atop a hill in Berat. From this vantage point, you can enjoy breathtaking views in every direction, overlooking the historic town and river below. Inside the castle walls, you’ll find a village-like neighborhood known as Kala, where some residents still live today. The castle dates back to the 13th century and houses numerous Byzantine churches and one Ottoman mosque.
• Holy Trinity Church - The Holy Trinity Church is among the best-preserved churches within Berat Castle. It is one of the first structures you’ll encounter as you ascend the hill towards the upper castle. The church is stunning and truly captivating. Built in the 14th century, it remains beautiful to this day.
• National Iconographic Museum Onufri - The Museum of Iconography showcases religious paintings from various Albanian monasteries. Situated within the castle walls, it is housed in the largest church on the premises, “the Church of the Dormition of St. Mary.” The museum is named “Onufri” after the renowned Albanian fresco and icon painter.
• National Ethnographic Museum Berat - Just downhill from Berat Castle, the tour visits the National Ethnographic Museum of Berat. This museum is located in a charming 18th-century Ottoman house. On the ground floor, you can explore a traditional medieval bazaar featuring embroidery, woodcarving, and metalworking shops. The second floor offers a glimpse into a traditional home with a guest room, kitchen, and workroom.
• Mangalem - In the afternoon, the tour explores the Mangalem & Gorica Quarters, traditional neighborhoods built on the hillside. You’ll see hundreds of small white Ottoman-style houses. From the hill’s base, these houses appear stacked atop one another, earning Berat the nickname “the city of a thousand windows.” In essence, Berat is a romantic city with an Italian ambiance.

  In the late afternoon, enjoy free time to wander through Berat’s old neighborhoods.
