A Beautiful Day in the Belizean Highlands—Thank You, George! - On our second day in Belize, my husband and I took an unforgettable tour through Mountain Pine Ridge with George as our guide—and it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. Yes, the tour involved a good amount of driving, but George made every mile fly by. He filled the ride with fascinating stories and facts about Belize’s history, culture, landscape, and wildlife. His passion and knowledge made the experience so much richer than we expected. Our first stop was the stunning Rio Frio Cave, and wow—it was absolutely magical. A river flows right through the cave, and the sheer size and natural beauty of the place were breathtaking. George shared insights about the unique flora and fauna of the area and was kind enough to take plenty of photos of us so we could hold onto those memories forever. Next, we drove deeper into the Mountain Pine Ridge. As we passed through the lush forest, George pointed out all sorts of interesting details about the pines and the ecosystem there. Eventually, we stopped for a delicious Belizean lunch—stewed chicken, rice and beans, fried plantains, coleslaw, and a generous splash of rum punch. It was the perfect mid-day treat, and he set it up beautifully for us in a scenic spot. After lunch, we cooled off with a swim in the Rio On Pools. The natural pools and cascading waterfalls were like our own private jungle spa. We relaxed there for over an hour while George packed up lunch and let us enjoy the moment. From there, we headed to Big Rock Falls—an enormous, thundering waterfall with crystal-clear water and cliffs to jump from if you’re feeling adventurous. We swam, laughed, and even made a few new friends while enjoying this unforgettable spot. By the end of the day, we were blissfully tired and full of gratitude. George drove us back to our hotel safely, and we couldn’t stop talking about how perfect the day had been. His kindness, knowledge, and easygoing nature made this adventure truly special. Great experience - The MPR tour with BCE was excellent. Gave us the right info, picked us up on time, very friendly driver and guide, took us to different spots (rio frio caves, rio pools, big rock waterfalls) providing lots of information and answering questions followed by a sumptuous lunch. We had lots of time at each location. Very happy with the overall experience, no surprises and exceeded expectations
