An incredible experience full of history and wonder - What an experience! Our tour guide was Damien, owner and operator of Classic Maya Adventure Tours. He comes from the Mayan culture and local community and is full of historical knowledge and pride for all things Belize. We were a group of three - parents and a 10-y-o - and he made history come alive throughout the entire tour. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and can't wait to come back to Belize and do more tours with Classic Maya (and Damien!).

The best experience! - Damian was an amazing guide. His encyclopaedic knowledge of not only Mayan history and architecture but also the flora and fauna of the jungle made the trip much more than expected. Friendly, funny, professional. An incredible way to experience Mayan culture!! - I can't say enough great things about this tour and the tour company. It is a family owned/run business focused on intimate tours which was right up our alley. The family is of Mayan decent and they have lived in the area for years. Wilton is front of office and handles all of the communication. He is on top of all the details and responds quickly to all questions. Initially we had booked the Xuanantunich tour but due to high water levels on the river we had to switch to the Caracol package and in the end we are thrilled that happened. It is a little bit longer of a drive (on a dirt and bumpy road) from the San Ignacio area, but well worth the effort. Wilton was very helpful in explaining all the details and making sure the switch worked for us. His father Damian was our tour guide. He was kind, extremely knowledgeable and a fun person to spend the day with. I felt like we were on a private tour the entire day. There was only one other couple in the Rio Frio Caves and 4 other small groups at Caracol. Both locations have rich Mayan history and it was fun to learn all about it from Damian (who never seemed to tire of our endles questions). At the end of our Caracol tour Damain set up a lovely picnic with a delicious feast of food his wife had prepared. You will not be disappointed if you book with this company.

An Unforgettable Day - Any experience visiting a Maya site is special, but having the right guide makes all the difference. Darwin was knowledgable, professional, kind and charismatic. What more can you ask for? Despite heavy rains prior and tough road conditions, Darwin got us safely to our destinations with a smile on our face the whole way. We had a day we will NEVER forget!

Wow! Phenomenal Service! Amazing Tour! - Damian took my two teenage daughters and I on an all day excursion to Rio Frio Cave, Caracol, and Big Rock Falls. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all my questions! I had done the ATM Cave tour the day before and I still had so many questions that weren't answered by that guide. Damian explained things to me so clearly and filled in all my knowledge gaps! He let us linger as long as we wanted at each site, and he made us feel comfortable and safe all day. I highly recommend this company!

Outstanding Adventure - I highly recommend this tour. In addition to detailed information about the site and its history, our guide, Damian, an ethnic Mayan, shared information about the culture and regional plants and animals. But first, he conquered the rugged terrain that must be driven to reach the site. If you want an incredible experience, this local, family run company is the way to go.

Perfect choice for families - Our second trip to Belize and once again we depended on CMA for tour and transportation needs. Wilton, the son, does all the bookings and Damian and his crew are most knowledgeable and provide safe experiences. Most trustworthy and accommodating. These are private tours and very fairly priced. Highly recommend them.

Best Tour of Our Vacation! Highly Recommend!! - I can't say enough positive things about this tour! Damien was the BEST local tour guide my husband and I could have hoped for on our honeymoon. Not only did he provide a wealth of information about the ruins but also told us the history of the land, landscape, and culture. He had an answer for all of our questions and was also the best driver! We would highly recommend this tour company to anyone traveling to Belize for the first time or anytime!

Interesting Tours with Excellent Guides, - Augusto and his brother Damien were very friendly and knowledgeable guides. Augusto took us to the Caracol Maya ruins. He managed the drive on the challenging road with ease and even spotted a number of wildlife on the way. We were lucky enough to see Scarlet Macaws, Crested Guans, a crocodile and howler monkeys along the road. Augusto filled us with facts and information on the Mayan civilization as we toured through the massive ruins at Caracol. Along the journey Augusto answered our many questions on Belize in general. Damien was our driver and guide to Barton Creek Cave via a traditional Mennonite village. The canoe trip into the cave was interesting learning about the Mayan rituals performed for the underworld gods. Damien was well organized with all the equipment needed for the excursion in the canoe. All in all touring with this company is highly recommended.
