Food & Rum - Percy was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable. He even came to us because we were at the wrong pick up spot. You can never go wrong with food and rum.

A must tour!! - What a blast. From the historical facts, fresh fruit stop, bakery in the middle of a neighborhood, best “Mexican” chicken tacos I’ve ever tried to the local rum distillery tour…⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Percy was very informative and super friendly!!

Excellent city tour and food experience - Jeff was the best part of the tour. Very informational - took us to some amazing local spots for fabulous food. Highly recommend ! The van for the 8 of us was comfortable and Jeff provided cold water upon arrival. He was patient with elderly parents and made my mom feel special.

Experience the REAL Belize! - Our family had a wonderful time on this tour. Jeff will show you the real Belize. If you are interested in learning about the history, culture, economy, and of course, food of this beautiful island, this is the tour to take. Everything we ate was delicious. This tour takes you where the locals eat, as they eat. If you are looking for a luxury or commercial tourist experience, I would not recommend it. However, If you want to be shown the island by someone who knows what he's talking about-- you will appreciate this tour. It was valuable for my children to observe working people living their daily lives. We were also inspired by the work of Jeff and others to provide opportunity and economic mobility for the people of Belize.

The tour was nice . The... - The tour was nice . The food for breakfast was delicious . I would like to have lunch included for the price . We decide to skip lunch as we were full but were told that lunch was on us . The rum tour was given by our tour guide and not someone from the actual rum distillery ….our tour Guide was great and knowledgeable however the people in the distillery couldn’t be bothered

Underwhelming - Underwhelming especially for the price. We sat around for an hour waiting to leave, some passengers had been under the impression they were taking a solo tour that started at 10 instead of a group tour that started at 9. Nice guide though!

Disappointed in this tour - The tour started off well. Jeff was our guide and was very welcoming and jovial. We went to the sexy chicken where we were fed a fried pie of sorts that is specific to the area. Jeff made another stop where he got off of the bus and returned with fresh fruit from the local market and provided that to all of us. We proceeded to the Rum factory where we were given tastings free of charge. From that location, we proceeded to a restaurant where we were told that we could purchase local cuisine (Signature deck was the name of the restaurant). The original posting on the Viator web site indicated that food purchases could be made from $3 and up so we were aware that we would have to pay although it was rather unclear in the ad. There were about 20 of us on the tour and the restaurant was rather small. Three tables received their food, we did not. After one hour and the other tables finishing their meal, my husband, I, another couple and a single female decided that we would leave without eating as it would hold up the entire group if we were to eat. When those who did dine there went to pay for the meals that they received, they were over charged as Jeff had told us that the cost on the menu would be half of what we would have to pay. (nothing there cost $3 and most items started at around $12)Jeff was able to straighten this out and after some sort of agreement was decided, he brought food (not actually what was ordered...but..)to the bus for those who had not eaten. Since this was a city food tour, we were obviously disappointed. Although Jeff tried to make things better, I cannot suggest this tour to anyone who is a foodie like me.

Misses in coordination and overall underwhelming - We really wanted to like this experience, but it was all in all underwhelming. The tour company had a different start time to our tour than what was sent in our Viator confirmation email, and they ended up arriving late to the pick-up stop even for their intended start time. The guide was also apparently double booked, so we had a guide sub in for us from a different tour company. We stopped at a total of 5 food locations - a taquito-type stall, a fruit stand, a bakery, a market, and a distillery. The fruit was tasty (loved the fresh coconut), and the market was interesting, but the other stops for food did not feel truly unique or stand out to us in terms of flavor or experience. The most interesting part of the tour was actually the sub-in driver and the drive through town. Our sub-guide did a great job describing the history and sharing a lot of cultural information about the city itself, and we felt we got to know Belize City a lot better than if we had done another excursion. Our actual intended guide, who swapped in after the distillery unfortunately ended up repeating a lot of what the sub-guide shared. We really wanted to like this excursion, but due to the misses in coordination and overall underwhelming food experience, we cannot recommend this tour.

Underwhelming - Jeff was a very personable tour guide. Unfortunately, this tour did not meet my expectations for a number of reasons: First, the bus was older and the PA system didn't work (too fuzzy). I have some hearing loss, so I spent most of the time trying to figure out what Jeff was saying. This tour was touted as an in-depth tour of the history of Belize. Most of the commentary was pretty cursory and short on details. My husband got more history from his tour guide---and he was on akayaking and zip lining tour. We did stop at the Sexy Chicken as promised---food was great. The fruit was also tastey, although we didn't visit "the market". Jeff ran in to grab some pre-cut fruit for us. Lunch was a bit of a bust. We waited for more than an hour after ordering to get our food, and anly about 1/3 of us actually received our food--and they were initially charged in US dollars rather than the Belize dollars (exchange is 2 to 1). Jeff had to intervene to straighten in out. The rest of us didn't get lunch, and Jeff was angry about the situation. He DID try to make it right. He bought some chicken, rice & beans, and plaintain for the rest of us (excellent) from another nearby place. We stopped at the spice market for about 5 minutes (and I was over charged $2--buyer beware). We did not go for pastries. We didn't stop at any landmarks other than the Belize sign. Although this was an OK tour, it wasn't quite what was promised and wasn't worth the price.

The tour wasn't as... - The tour wasn't as advertised. We didn't go to the places they said. They took us to a restaurant that didn't have authentic food and we waited an hour and never got food. Some people did get food but were charged Belizian prices that were double. We couldn't find Jeff, our tour guide and when he showed up, he went across the street and got some food for people. By that time, we all just wanted to go. Others he got some of their money back from restaurant. We wanted to go to the spice market and asked him to stop since it was supposed to be on the tour, we did stop for a very short time before we went back to the port. We never did go to a bakery which was also listed as a place on the tour. Very disappointing.
