Fantastic Cave tubing excursion with Charlie’s Cave Tubing! Ask for Abner! - We took this tour on our Caribbean Princess cruise in Feb 2025 . Abner met us at the port on time and took us inland for approximately one hour- pointing out numerous sight along the way. He obviously loves his country! He filled us in on the history of Belize - very friendly and knowledgeable! We shared a lot of laughs with him. He loves his job so much that he rides a bus 2 hours from his farm to work and back 3 -4 days a week! Once there, we hiked a comfortable distance ( wear comfortable water shoes) to enter the water , he stopped often to point out various caves and nature sights - our tubes were there waiting for us. He hooked our tubes together and the fun began ! He physically guided us down the river through the caverns , pointing out numerous rock formations. After we got out, we dried off and changed back to street clothes and we were fed a great lunch! Abner then got us back to port in plenty of time! I HIGHLY recommend this excursion! Abner was great!

Cave Tubing with Charlie Cave Tubing for Cruisers - This was an amazing experience. Even though we didn't get to the meet up spot until the last minute due to water shuttle delays, our guide was waiting for us and was easy to locate because of his shirt. Our van was comfortable. Abner, our guide, share lots of information about the area as we drove the 45 minutes to the caves. His driving skills were safe. When we arrived to the caves, Abner explained everything to us. He had our headlights and life vest ready. We were able to store our belongings in his van. It was very nice to not have to carry our inner tubes (I have done this excursion with a different vendor in the past, and we had to carry our tubes.) Abner gave us so much information about he plants and the Mayan's history and views on the land. When we arrived at the entrance of the caves, we appreciated him taking a group photo for us. Abner knew his way through the water and told us when to lift our bottoms. When the water was shallow, he pulled us. We felt very safe with his leadership. We also liked being able to float down the river after we exited the caves. Not all tour companies go that far. Our meal afterwards was fantastic. I highly recommend using this company.

I wish I could rate this... - I wish I could rate this more than 5 stars. Our tour guide, Brett was AMAZING. We showed up late because we didn't know that we had to take smaller boats off our cruise ship & Brett waited for us a lot longer than he should have. He was very knowledgeable about Belize, giving us information on the way to the caves. The food was great and so were the caves.

Intermediate Level Cave Adventure - This was very fun. There is a bit of walking on uneven terrain and it does have several uneven, slippery stairs. There is also a river crossing that can be fast water if it has rained a lot. All that being said, we had a great time! Nelson was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable about Belize because he has lived here his whole life. He was very helpful and ensured our safety. Our lunch was local fair and can be an acquired taste. Most of our fellow travelers liked it very much. There are vendors at this location, but they were not pushy. I highly recommend this. I am 65 years old with sore knees.

Charlie Chan’s water tubing adventure - Combination nature, adventure and relaxation. Easy meet up at the port. Small group of 12 . Nelson, main tour guide and Brett/driver and associate guide. 12 seat van with about 45 minute ride to caves with information about Belize narrated on drive. About 20 minute walk to entrance of water and caves. Definitely come in your bathing suit and wear water shoes or secure sandals that will get wet. Stone and gravel walk with a few stairs at various points on path. You do cross the water at one point and there was a rope guide rail to hold if needed. Tubes tied together two by two and guide swam/walked along. Wonderful trip tubing, again with narration. Many scenic shots of stalagmite and stalactites, so worth taking a camera in a waterproof case. There is a changing area/building and bathroom for afterwards so bring dry clothes/shorts. We were then driven to a small restaurant for a great lunch of chicken, rice, coleslaw and banana, soda or water. Four of the 12 had chosen zip lining, so they were dropped off first. Great for all ages. No actual swimming. Just put your bottom in center of tube. Life jackets and helmet with a light must be worn. Very safe and enjoyable.

Great day in Belize - My wife and I had. Great excursion which was due in large part by our guide/driver Nelson. We were picked up outside the main cruise port which is real actively small and you can’t miss The Charle’s crew. We had to drive about an hour to get to the cave site and Nelson filled the trip with information about Belize and pointed out many sites of interest. You should bring a towel and a change of clothes with you as you will get wet during the cave exploration. Water shoes are available to rent for $3 and if you don’t have water shoes….you should definitely rent some. You are outfitted with life jackets and helmets with spotlights before taking a 30+ minute hike to the start of the caves.you do have to cross a river ( about 100 yds ) which will get you wet up to your waste so leave valuables in the van( it’s locked while you are gone).walking through the jungle is pretty straight forward, but there are some steep stairs to go down.. Once you get to the caves you are basically sitting in an inter tube ,but it is very comfortable., that is lashed together with others in your party( up to 8 people). Nelson then jumps in the water and steers the tubes down river and through the caves. The caves are amazing and Nelson pointed out many structures and even got some bats to fly through. After the caves we walked 2 minutes back to the van to change and then had a nice local lunch. Then it was another hour drive back to the cruise port( and the Belize roads are in rough shape). All in all it was about 5 hours to complete. We had a great time and would strongly recommend this tour.

Great adventure! - Nelson was an exceptional cruise guide and that really made the day enjoyable. We arrived early for the excursion and waited for a while until about 9:00 am. The drive to the cave tubing was about an hour and Nelson provided very interesting commentary based on our queries. Upon arrival, we got organized with life jackets and helmets with lights. Be sure to wear water shoes or the equivalent (and they can be rented). We had a short walk to the river which we crossed holding onto a rope. The current was brisk, and the water was cool (at first) but you get used to it. We then walked about a mile at a leisurely pace for the eight of us on a rocky scenic trail in the beautiful forests around the river. When we arrived at the river’s excursion starting point we got into our tubes which were tied together and embarked on a truly interesting journey through the river caves. At times, the lights on our helmets provided the only light during our experience as we journeyed down the river. Nelson was in the water and he guided our flotilla of eight through the river caves. It was great. After we finished, we took our tubes, jackets and helmets back and got changed into some clothes we had brought along and left in the van. We had a great lunch at the site and then drove back. This is a very worthwhile excursion. We had a longer time on the river than some tours here and we did not have to carry our tubes on the mile walk to the start of the excursion. I would recommend that you know your limits when it comes to your walking ability. We are pretty active seniors and had no difficulty navigating slippery areas, stairs, and getting in and out of the tubes. Just make sure you know your capabilities and you will be just fine. Overall, we highly recommend this excursion. Definitely worth it… especially if you have a great tour guide like Nelson and a company that is responsive to your questions beforehand and needs while on the excursion.

Weather kept us away - We were to do this experience as a stop on our cruise. Unfortunately due to weather, we were unable to stop in Belize City and therefore unable to do the tour. I’m giving Charlie’s Cave Tubing 5 stars because they were very communicative leading up to the excursion. We had to cancel this tour very last minute and they were understanding and fully refunded our tour even though it was past the 24hour cancellation policy. I will definitely book this again the next time we visit Belize.

Charlie Chans cave tubing - The operators of this tour were awesome! We were picked up on time per the directions and returned to the terminal with ample time to spare. The cave tubing experience was fun for all and they made safety a priority. The lunch was really tasty authentic fare of stewed chicken, rice and beans, and slaw. We opted for the lunch while others in the group opted for zip lining after the cave float so we enjoyed our lunch at shaded picnic tables at the zip line facility. The zip lining looked fun as well. Definitely bring some bug spray! Also bring some spare money for a stop at a local shop for some local snacks. Everyone in our family of 4 really enjoyed our day and appreciated talking with the operators about their country and we wish the best for them and their families!

Good experience - The length of the walk as well as crossing a very rapid river should be noted, we older folks had trouble with those things. The driver and guide were super nice!
