- Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve - The staff provides tubes with mesh seat bottoms and headrests for guests, and for cruise passengers, the tour begins one hour after the ship docks. This adventure is perfect for active families, featuring tubing, swimming, and walking inside a magnificent crystal cave. Participants will enjoy the deluxe cave-tubing experience, viewing impressive columns, ancient broken pots, a stunning frozen crystal waterfall wall, and a rock formation resembling a jaguar, among other captivating crystal formations. The journey from the port to the cave area takes about an hour, followed by a 20-minute hike through a forest path. Guides expertly navigate the tubes through the caves, highlighting the formations along the way. The tubes are spacious, equipped with mesh seat bottoms, all-around tow ropes, backrests, and cup holders. Each participant is provided with a life jacket, helmet, and headlamp. At the waterfall, some standing and walking inside the caves is necessary to fully appreciate the formations. After exploring this extraordinary cave system, the float continues to the cave’s exit, followed by a 10-minute float on the open river, concluding near the parking area. It’s then time to return to the water taxi, cruise port, or hotel.
