We meet you at the port exit of Terminal One and also offer pickup at hotels. Enjoy a leisurely drive through the city, experiencing the Belizean way of life as the guide shares historical and current events that have shaped Belize. Explore both old and new neighborhoods, churches, schools, and streetside vendors. Learn about the origins of British Honduras, first settled by pirates, then mahogany loggers and slaves, with relics from that era including colonial mansions, mahogany chips, and old rum bottles. Hear stories about the memorial tomb and lighthouse of our benefactor, the memorial park, banks, churches, clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, schools, and businesses.
Midway through, we stop at a local supermarket where you can shop at the gift shop, deli, or purchase local snacks, beers, soft drinks, ice cream, Belizean chocolate, coffee, and pharmacy items. Next, we visit the Back Yaad to observe orchids, birds, iguanas, fish in the waterways, and possibly even rare crocodiles or manatees that occasionally visit. Finally, we stop at the rum factory for a tasting session before returning to the port.
