Wonderful insight into Yugoslav history - My second time doing this walking tour, though my first was during the pandemic and so was completely different. A wonderful insight into the history of yugoslavia, it was mostly conducted indoors at the Museum of Yugoslavia, I suspect this was adapted from the original plan because the temperature was above 40C/105F, and was an absolute relief as outdoors would have been unbearable. The guides knowledge was remarkable and his sense of narrative engaging. All in all a wonderful afternoon.

Very nice - I did a walking tour with Milan on July 11 and it was an excellent one. Though the tour is named as a "Communist tour," Milan managed to gave a short overview of the pre-Communist period as well. The Yugoslavia collapse is a very hard topic to talk about and maybe it cannot fit into the short tour time limits, but Milan at least summarized the main points. Also, I liked that he occasionally spoke about the impact of the events on his own family and this is the best way to understand what was happening. Note that the tour is not for 3 hours, lasted almost 4, plan this accordingly (I was time-conscious because of my upcoming flight).

Please Just Keep It to Communism For Now - Serbia needs to come to terms with its past. This excellent tour went off the rails when the story reached the end of communism. Everyone who visits Belgrade should visit Srebrenica (for at least 8,372 reasons).

Use Belgrade Free Tours (orange umbrella) DO NOT use Belgrade Walking Tours (yellow umbrella) - I did the free zemum walking tour with Belgrade Walking Tours (yellow umbrella) and I booked the communist tour with them. The guide for both was Michael (mikhail). He was aggressive and throughout the tour he demandec tips from everyone. At the end he confronted each person insisting that he wants his tips. His behaviour and attitude was quite shocking and unprofessional. He then informed me that he has decided for the Communist tour he wont be visiting any of the places on the stated itinerary. He will only be doing the Yugoslavia museum. I booked and paid for the tour to see everything on the itinerary. Because of this I cancelled my booking for the Communist tour. The Zemun tour was boring and he didnt show us anything. It was just a walk around. I DO NOT recommend Belgrade Walking Tours (yellow umbrella) for either of these tours. There is another group called Belgrade Free tours (orange umbrella) that do walking tours of the city centre and another tour called Hisotry and heritage. Both guides on these tours were very knowledgeable and I thoroughly enjoyed these two tours with Belgrade Free Tours.
