Knowledgeable and witty - This tour was a highlight of our visit to Ireland. We came away with a better understanding and an eagerness to learn more. Arthur told the story with emotion, frankness, laced with today’s world problems and he really managed to make us laugh. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting.

Gritty, real and highly recommended - A gritty and realistic tour of Belfast with Arthur who is a real character. This is definitely not your glossy / highlights type of tour - I have come home with a million questions and a real thirst to know more about what happened in the 70’s/80’s and why. In fact the tour probably made me realise how ignorant I am of the situation. Would def recommend . Only caveat is that he speaks fairly fast and unless your English is fluent, you may struggle to understand.

Best Walking Tour In Belfast. - This was the best experience. Arthur gives an excellent insight into Belfast and its troubled past. However he also shines a light on the fact that the troubles shouldn’t be the only thing that Belfast is about, he speaks about numerous surrounding topics that feed into the time of the Troubles. He makes this a personal experience, he gets to know his audience. Arthur is not only a great guide, but all round a funny, knowledgable and importantly a good person. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely recommend this walk - That was an amazing trip. Enlightening and entertaining at the same time. It is a sad history but I agree with Arthur, we must not forget and we learn to accept and try very hard not to be bias. Arthur, thank you.

Interesting on many levels - A very interesting, nuanced and personal storytelling of a very complicated subject. Enjoyed it so very much, for the information but also for making us think beyond the facts. Cannot recommend enough!

Thought provoking! - Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, witty, and brought a deep understanding of Belfast’s complex history. Arthur had a fantastic way of explaining difficult subjects with clarity and sensitivity, while also weaving in humor and personal anecdotes that made the experience both educational and engaging. I came away with a much deeper appreciation for Belfast’s history and resilience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.

At the heart of the “Troubles” Walk - 3 hours long. Not a sight-seeing tour. “Walls and Bridges” refers to the “walls” which people erect between one another and “bridges” refers to the ways in which we as people need to build greater understanding. Understanding the “troubles” as presented on this tour shines a light on what can happen anywhere if we label our neighbors before trying to understand them and our own prejudices.

A meaningful experience I won’t soon forget - Arthur provides a thoughtful, colorful, and personal tour of Belfast’s troubled past. He provided a historical background that helped explain how the Troubles arose, and then went on to narrate the height of the Troubles, and the Good Friday peace accords. I appreciated that he then continued to talk about what has happened since 1998 and his musings about Belfast’s and Northern Ireland’s future. I also appreciated that he shared his own personal experiences and life story. It was a tour I will be thinking about for a long time. Was well worth the time.
