• Place des Martyrs - You will see the martyr’s statue. Receive an introduction about Lebanon, the green line in the context of the civil war, the revolution of 2019.
• Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque - See the burial site of ex-prime minister Rafic Hariri and the al-amine mosque as well as the ruins of the Roman city of “Berytus”.
• St. George Maronite Cathedral - Pass by the Saint George Maronite cathedral while looking at the old Opera that was damaged during the Civil War.
• Place de l’Etoile - In route we see the grand serial, the Parliament, the rolex clock tower, the Roman baths, the Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
• Beirut Souks - We will walk through the Beirut Souks, see the “I love Beirut Sign”, the nearly abandoned luxury open air mall, the old headquarters of the of Lorient Le Jour newspaper, the Zaha Hadid department store. There will be a 5 minutes bathroom break.
• Zaitunay Bay - In route to the Zeitunay Bay we will observe some of the damage from the Beirut Blast of August 2020 and we will discuss the events that lead to the disaster. We will then view the famous Zeitunay Bay and go through the Saint George Bay. We will also view the old holiday inn and the place of the assassination of Rafic Hariri.
