Your driver will collect you from downtown Beijing hotels or the airport and transport you to the Great Wall. Upon arrival, they will assist with ticket purchases (at your expense), inform you of their waiting location, and allow you to explore on your own. After your self-guided tour, meet the driver at the parking lot for the return journey to your hotel or airport.

Great Wall sections to choose from:

1: Mutianyu (75km from downtown, 1.5-hour drive): Popular with foreigners, featuring well-preserved walls, greenery, and paved steps. Entrance fee: 60 RMB/person; cable car round trip or ski lift + toboggan: 140 RMB/person.
2: Juyongguan (closest, 1–1.15-hour drive): Features a historic fortress (unlike most sections). Entrance fee: 45 RMB/person; no cable car.
3: Badaling (1.5-hour drive): Famous but crowded and commercialized. Not recommended on public holidays (heavy traffic, mandatory shuttle buses waste time). Entrance fee: 45 RMB/person; cable car: 120 RMB/person.
4: Simatai + Gubei Water Town (2-hour drive): Explore a replica water town (stroll, try snacks, evening bazaars) and a wild, authentic Great Wall section with mountain views. Entrance fee: 280 RMB/person (includes cable car).
