- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant near the wall, embark on a roughly hour-and-a-half drive to visit the Summer Palace, an imperial garden and summer retreat for the royal family. Recognized as the best-preserved imperial garden in China, you’ll learn fascinating stories about the dragon lady.
You will be transported back to your centrally located hotel lobby at the end of the tour.
- Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling) - This area is the final resting place for 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty, with the Ding Tomb being the best preserved. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the underground tunnel and view the burial artifacts.

Great walk and summer palace - Everything was perfect
Maggie our guide was very friendly and professional and we spent a nice day with her visiting the Great Wall and the summer palace . Highly recommended!

Trip of a lifetime - This was a trip of a lifetime. I loved that we started early and missed the crowds at the Great Wall. The tomb was very special and am glad I didn’t miss it. James was a great guide - plenty of information and brilliant at answering questions, but not too much! Very professional driver and super comfortable car. Can highly recommend the trip and Catherine Lu Tours.

Great day at Summer Palace and Mutianyu Great Wall - The private tour was excellent! It was a personalised guided tour to both mutianyu Great Wall and the summer palace. James, the guide, was very professional and even proposed to adjust the itinerary because of the possibility of rain at the great wall in the morning and hence we adjusted the sequence by going to the summer palace first. Driver was also very safe and his driving skills did not cause us any motion sickness. Great day overall. Highly recommended.

Mutianyu wall & Summer palace - The tour was excellent and very well organized. We had a great time with Jenny, our tour guide, who not only showed us all the great spots but also shared fascinating historical facts. Both Jenny and our driver, Mr. Lu, went above and beyond to make our trip truly memorable

An interesting day with Kathy! - Kathy was our amazing tour guide in Beijing. She took us to the Ming Tombs and showed us around. She was so nice and explained everything very well.
She also chose an amazing local restaurant to eat at in the afternoon.
We would absolutely recommend a tour with Kathy to the ming tombs!

Amazing 36 hours in Beijing with Catherine - Catherine was the best tour guide I’ve met in a very long time. She was happy and helpful all the time and coordinated our time and schedule perfectly. We’ve had an amazing and fun night in the hutongs and central Beijing and an unforgettable full day in summer palace and the Great Wall. I couldn’t recommend her more and I strongly advise anyone that comes to Beijing and need an english speaking tour-guide to contact her.

Wonderful Great Wall Experience!! - Today we visited the Great Wall and Summer Palace with our tour guide Maggie! From a planning perspective, Catherine Lu tours was very easy to work with. We are a group of friends traveling from NYC and had a number of questions and requests based on our own research. They were very friendly and accommodating, and we were able to work up an itinerary that fit our needs perfectly. In terms of our guide, Maggie was wonderful! She was friendly, knowledgeable and shared so much insight on China and Beijing beyond just the sites themselves. We would highly recommend both Catherine Lu Tours and Maggie for anyone looking to get a high quality personalized tour!
