Mutianyu Great Wall - Your designated driver will meet you at 7:30 am in the lobby of your hotel.\nThe journey from the center of Beijing to the Mutianyu Wall parking area takes approximately 90 minutes and covers a distance of 75 kilometers.\n\nThe Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is perched on a mountain ridge at an elevation ranging from 600 to 1,000 meters.\n\nConstructed primarily from granite blocks, the wall stands between 7 and 8 meters tall and spans a width of 4 to 5 meters. Erected in 1404, it was originally intended to thwart southward incursions by the Mongol army. Today, however, it serves a different purpose, drawing more international visitors than it repels.\n\nA chairlift transports visitors from the base of the mountain to the 6th Watch Tower on the Great Wall in just five minutes. From this vantage point atop the ancient fortification, one can enjoy expansive views of the surrounding villages to the south and, on clear days, a distant glimpse of Beijing’s tallest skyscraper, the Chinese Zun. To the north, the Great Wall is flanked by seemingly endless mountain ranges. The watchtowers are spaced approximately 300 to 500 meters apart along the wall. From any given tower, you can survey the entire Mutianyu section.\n\nThe wall’s flat terrain stretches from the 6th to the 9th Watch Tower, offering an easier path suitable for older adults and children. Conversely, the steep segment extends from the 6th Watch Tower to the 1st. For the more adventurous, a two-hour hike to the 19th Watch Tower is an option for those with the stamina.\n\nFollowing a fulfilling hike and photo session, visitors can descend from the 6th watch tower via an exhilarating toboggan ride.\n\nDining options in the vicinity include various Chinese eateries and a Subway restaurant. Alternatively, you may opt to pack your own snacks and fruit for lunch. Complimentary bottled water will be provided by your driver.\n\nYou will return to your original meeting point, and your driver will escort you back to your Beijing hotel around 2 pm.

Stress free and easy trip to Mutianyu Great Wall - I had one morning free to visit the Great Wall during a business trip to Beijing and our driver Miles made it completely stress free and easy! He arrived perfectly on time, was accommodating to our needs, and talked us through exactly how to use the shuttle bus/cable car etc. I'm so glad I booked my trip through these guys - I would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend: walking tour Tiananmen Sq. & Forbidden City with Kevin - We had an excellent morning exploring Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City in Beijing with our guide, Kevin. Pick up from our hotel and entry to the key sites was seamless and queue free. Kevin’s knowledge of the historic and contemporary significance of the sites was amazing. And he shaped the tour to our interests. We learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We highly recommend Kevin, as a superb guide.

Great trip to see snow on the wall - Snow on the Great Wall with the bluest sky - fab time. Mark, the guide, was great providing historical info, taking photos and leaving time to yourself to enjoy.

Great experience and good service! - The recommended timing was perfect, few tourist and great weather. Car is spacious and clean. Mark was very clear with his explanation and knows when to give us personal space. He volunteered to take family pictures for us. Have a good time with my family with the great scenery. Great Wall - Our driver Mark was so kind & helpful. He was so lovely to converse with on our ride to and from the Great Wall. He even helped us get tickets to go to the Summer Palace on our single day in Beijing. 10/10 driver, great visit of the great wall - We couldn’t have been luckier with Mark who drove us to Sumatai. The drive was excellent in a top notch, very comfortable car, which made time fly. Mark gave us great tips and told us very interesting things about China. The Sumatai tour was breathtaking. I highly recommend Mark for any tours around and within Beijing!
