The Mutianyu Great Wall is slightly further from downtown Beijing and is considered the most beautiful due to its scenery. It is located northeast, about 90 kilometers from downtown Beijing. This section of the Wall combines both restored and wild parts, with handrails to assist on the steeper sections, offering spectacular views.
You can choose to take a cable car or chair lift up and spend approximately 3 hours hiking on the Wall. Then, you have the option of taking a toboggan ride back down or returning the way you came.
After exploring the Wall for 2 or 3 hours, enjoy lunch at a special restaurant located on the mountain top. Here, you can clearly see the Great Wall and appreciate the beautiful scenery while savoring a delicious Chinese-style lunch at the peak restaurant in the area.
