- Mutianyu Great Wall - Meet your private guide in hotel’s lobby at your preferred time in Beijing.
Once arrive at the The Mutianyu Great Wall, you’ll enjoy a less hurried experience and take time to marvel at this wondrous structure and the surrounding hillsides. Take the cable car or ski lift up to the Wall, then hike up and down for about 1.5 hours at the various sections of the Wall, exploring the watch and beacon towers. After the hiking, you can choose to take the fun toboggan down or ski-lift/cable car back to the ground.
Mutianyu is a bit more rugged and slightly less crowded than the more famous Badaling. Over 96% of Mutianyu is covered by trees and orchards, keeping the air fragrant with chestnut blossoms in the spring and fresh all year long.
You will stop at a Local Restaurant for lunch.
- Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - In the afternoon, continue to a well-preserved royal garden: the Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed in the World Heritage Sites and considered as one of the most classical gardens of the world.
- Hall of Benevolence and Longevity - Follow your tour guide to stroll around the garden, learn the stories and histories behind the buildings. Get to know the famous “ Dragon Lady” and her life in the Summer Palace.
- Long Corridor at the Summer Palace - Walk along the longest corridor in the world which listed on the Guinness book of world record;
- Qingyan Stone Boat - Then continue to the Marble Boat–a foreign style superstructure which was supposed to be a symbol of stability of the Qing Dynasty.
After the tour finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel or other sites you want to go in Beijing city.

A great trip. - This was an amazing day. Cindy our guide planned the day really well so that we avoided long queues for the Great Wall. The lunch was fantastic and our driver provided us with ice cold drinks . Cindy was very informative throughout the trip and if you are limited for time in Beijing, this trip allows you to see both sites stress free. Definitely worth the money.

Great to visit a different section of the Great Wall! - I booked this private tour for myself and my two daughters (ages 8 and 12). Based on my colleague's recommendation, I specifically chose Mutianyu rather than Badaling. Our private tour guide was Edward and our driver was Mr. Li. Mr. Li was a very nice drive, who provided water and snacks for us. The water was expected, but the snacks were unexpected and appreciated, although we weren't hungry so didn't eat too much. Edward was a nice and chilled tour guide, very accommodating to our pace. His command of the English language was proficient, though I'd recommend him to speak in the direction of the guests so that it's easier to hear him. He told us a lot of back stories in the car on the way to the Great Wall, but because it was a minivan, my daughter who was sitting in the third row can hardly hear him when he was talking while facing the front. Do keep in mind that other than the specified places in the package, guests do not have to agree to go to any other places suggested by the tour guide. We did agree to go to a tea ceremony since I wanted my daughters to experience that. We ended up buying some tea, which I believe was over-priced, but I knew what I was doing. The tour included lunch - our tour guide took us to a buffet style restaurant with both western and Chinese options. However, the food options were limited and in my opinion, the food wasn't that great. This tour package is a bit pricey, but saved us the trouble of figuring out all the logistics and having someone knowledgeable about the places made the trip more meaningful. PS - choose the ski lift up and toboggan option. The toboggan slide back down was definitely a big hit with my daughters.

An unforgettable experience - Judy and Mr. Zhao were amazing guide/ driver to the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, and Wutong neighborhood.
First, they anticipated on traffic to the Great Wall (suggesting leaving the hotel 30m. earlier the evening before), which compared to other groups made us win one hour of visit. Additionally, Judy brought us to a great jade workshop and a tea shop where we did the tea ceremony. Then, great lunch 👌
In the afternoon, Judy had many tips for the visit of the Summer Palace, very helpful because so huge, and many stories for us.
Finally, Judy and Mr. Zhao suggested to prolong the tour to the Wutong area to accommodate for our train schedule in the evening, dropping us at the train station 90 minutes early for our departure to Shanghai.
It was such an amazing day, full of once-in-a-lifetime activities, perfectly managed by Judy and Mr. Zhao (amazing driver, keeping our level of water up at all times!)

Fantastic day visiting Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace with wonderful guide and driver - Picked up from our hotel by our guide Edward and our driver Mr Sun, we had a wonderful day. He was very professional, messaging the day before to ensure we were ready for the tour and getting the time right.
As Mr Sun navigated the roads, Edward offered some insightful historical background to the various places we were to see.
Arriving in Mutianyu, everything was seamless and we strolled carefree with only our passports up a reasonably steep hill to the cable car. After a brief ride, we arrived at the famed Great Wall. The views were stunning and we were fortunate, it wasn’t too busy!
My wife is pregnant and our two tour facilitators made sure she was comfortable the entire time. Edward finding time for breaks and areas to rest and Mr Sun providing ice cold water for the hot summer.
From there, we ventured to a tea house for some tasting which was unique and delicious.
A short journey further brought us to a jade factory where we toured the floor and then had lunch upstairs. A mix of Chinese and western food, the lunch was delicious.
Summer Palace was next on the agenda for the day and after about an hours drive we were at the East Gate ready to enter. It was packed but Edward expertly navigated the crowds and brought us to quiet areas while still showing the most interesting parts of the palace.
After a long walk through the grounds we arrived at the West Gate where Mr Sun was waiting for us.
Dropped back the hotel, we were very grateful for a fantastic day.

Great Wall and Summer Palace Fabulous Tour - Fabulous day. Sherry was prompt, her English very good and her knowledge of the Great Wall and Summer Palace was outstanding. Our car and driver were very comfortable. The value of having a private guide is often underrated. We were able to avoid the most crowded areas and navigate through queues quickly. I highly recommend this tour and our guide Sherry will make sure your day is filled with information and activities.

Great leisurely tour - Fantastic tour with our guide Cathy and driver Mr Wong. Cathy was very knowledgeable and planned our day well to avoid the crowds at the Great Wall. We were able to take our time and make stops at various souvenir shops and fruit stands along the way, which was a nice bonus.
