Mutianyu is a bit more rugged and slightly less crowded than the more famous Badaling. Over 96% of Mutianyu is covered by trees and orchards, keeping the air fragrant with chestnut blossoms in the spring and fresh all year long.

Good tour, great guide - Excellent tour - Jessica is the best. Very good communicator and explained not just about Great Wall but also history of beijing. Check with her on advice for shopping as well.

Good experience on Great Wall of China - Hi, today I went to great wall of China with my colleagues, had a gr8 time, we booked a tour through Viator, got a tour Guide named Jessica ( very very Chattty ) she took a lot of effort to explain things around..and even explained about forbidden city that we did yesterday...accomdative and warm

Great Tour to the Great Wall an Ming Tombs - I had an absolutely fantastic tour of the Great Wall of China and the Ming Tombs with Jessica! From start to finish, she was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly well-organized. Her explanations were clear and engaging, bringing the history of each site to life without ever feeling overwhelming.
Jessica managed the pace perfectly, giving me plenty of time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the scenery. She was always attentive to my needs and added thoughtful touches throughout the day that made the experience even more enjoyable.
Visiting the Great Wall was breathtaking, and the Ming Tombs were fascinating—made even better by Jessica’s insights and passion for Chinese history and culture. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

Great tour and experience at the Great Wall of China - Jack was an excellent tour guide and Wong was an excellent driver. They arrived on time, provided fun facts, and secured our tickets for the Great Wall. After, Jack made great recommendations for a restaurant and shops.

Amazing Tour of Great Wall - I just finished an incredible walk on the Great Wall of China with our guide, Jack. From start to finish, he went above and beyond. He shared so much history, answered every question, and kept the entire experience fun and engaging.
After the hike, he even took us for a great local lunch followed by some shopping—never rushed, always helpful, and genuinely wanting us to enjoy every part of the day. His energy, knowledge, and hospitality made the entire trip unforgettable.
If you’re visiting the Great Wall, ask for Jack. You’ll have an amazing experience start to finish. Highly recommend!

Private tour : Mutianyu Great Wall of China - We had a great service from Shane who is an excellent tour guide. He made our trip to the Great Wall of China exceptional with his great knowledge. Great Wall and Tea - Couldn’t have asked for a better way to see the Great Wall of China! Our driver, Jack, pick d us up promptly early in the morning and we drove up to the Great Wall! We beat all the crowds! Definitely go at sunrise as the crowds start showing up around 9. He gave us a history on the wall and helped us take some pictures before we explored on our own for a couple hours. On the drive home he asked if we wanted to stop at a Chinese tea house which we did and had some amazing tea! We also got some to bring home! Definitely would book this experience for a first timer and will be recommending it to anyone else who goes
