This group tour is exclusively in English. Our city tour enables the visitor to discover the best of Bayeux and Normandy history. Admire and identify the architectural features of its medieval buildings and its superb cathedral. Let your guide regal you with stories of ancient trades and old customs. Learn about major events and little anecdotes over many centuries. This tour is perfect to complement your visit to the D-Day beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Museum of Arts and History, the War Memorial Museum and the Bayeux cathedral. We aim to provide an enjoyable and informative tour. Our guides are fluent, knowledgeable and fun! Suitable for >8 years old. All participants should have a good level of English.

The many standing stops might become tiring for back sufferers or pregnant ladies: we recommend you bring a foldable stool. We will also use public benches wherever possible.
Be mindful that there are no “nature call” stops during this 2 hour tour, therefore it is recommended to plan ahead.

Enthusiastic and enlightened! - We didn’t know what expect but we were charmed by the whole experience. The guide (sorry I cannot remember your name but it was the less younger of the two in the picture) she spoke excellent English and was easy to hear and understand. We learnt so much and she was able to answer questions happily and easily. A real delight. Bateaux suddenly became a whole different town once we knew some of its long and varied history. Many thanks for a lovely tour.

Excellent and informative - We did the two hour walking tour this morning with Christele. It was brilliant from start to finish. Christele was an excellent guide, full of really interesting historical facts and some fun facts as well. It also helped us to note where places were in the town centre that we wanted to visit later on. Highly recommend.

The Best Tour We've Ever Done. - We did this tour in June 2024, having taken a number of tours on our travels I can say this was the best we have undertaken. Great information through the ages and delivered with humour. For 15 euros at the time of writing (5 for children) you can't spend a better 2 hours (and a bit!) in Bayeux.
