Paradise exists - Absolutely fascinating this proposed tour going through some must-see spots of this valley of volcanic formation. The colors of nature explode before our stunned gaze. One of the best moments of my trip through Nkva Zealand!

Spectacular - It's a movie place We did the walking tour which is spectacular, it looks like Jurasic Park. What you see and the closeness of what you see is amazing All very well marked and easy to walk We did not take the bus back and it rained all the way, the road itself is easy but it is a good idea to have the bus back

Volcanic walk - Very scenic self guided walk. Easy tracks and information signs to guide you. Nicely organised bus to take you back to the start. Lots of birds to look at on your way!

Stunning hike that you can do at your own pace on your own. Beautiful and amazing! - Interesting, stunning scenery on this walk! So many amazing things to learn while looking at incredible nature! We all thoroughly enjoyed this walk and actually wish we had longer to enjoy all the birds at the end before catching the lake boat tour, which was peaceful and lovely. We liked that this was at our own pace, just us. Walk truly is mostly flat or downhill, easy. And then a bus brings you back up at the end.

Glad we chose to do this - We were trying to decide which of Te Puia, Waiotapu, and Waimangu to visit - we only had time for one and were traveling with our 4 and 6 year old. Based on reviews, we got the sense that Waimangu was the most natural and active - and we were so glad that’s what we chose! It’s set up as a there and back hike but the bus runs in both directions so you can decide how to do it. The trail is very kid friendly and the only steps were just before bus stop 1 to see the Inferno Crater which was by far the highlight in my opinion. We were there in the afternoon (park closed at 5, last bus from the lake returns around 4:30) and while it did not feel crowded AT ALL, the bus back was standing room only. Definitely worth visit!

Great self guided walk.... - Great self guided walk. We absolutely loved it. The only critic I have is that our appt was at 3 PM and they told us the last bus stopping at bus stop 3 leave at 4:35 which cut our experience short as we had to rush our walk to make sure we make it to the bus. They should keep it running till 5.

Morning Visit - Hike & Boat on Lake - We did this with a stroller/pushcar and it was entirely manageable. The advertising/marketing states that it is fully accessible but indeed it is *not*. To be clear, I only speak of the main pathway, which between bus stops 1 and 2, had some random steps out of nowhere. The boat tour on the lake was great as well - informative and comfortable. That said, when we got off there was not enough space for all to get on the regularly scheduled bus back to the main entryway. One of the workers muttered something along the lines of "This is what happens whenever the boat has more than twenty people. They need another bus." They did send another bus, and it arrived in about fifteen or twenty minutes time. To be clear, this is unacceptable on all fronts. This place knows the logistics of this park and one of the workers could easily radio how many are on the boat BEFORE it departs so they send an extra bus in advance. For those left behind waiting, there are no restrooms and there is minimal seating. Additionally, there were workers doing something by the lake that involved use of a diesel generator. Not something anyone wants to be around, let alone with a child. Were it not for this, the place would be five star ranked, no doubt. So, when you read this @management, rather than a canned response just respond, publicly, that this logistical issue has been addressed on a go forward basis.

Is NZ actually open for business? - Disappointed. Followed the signs, arrived at the place, got out of the car in the rain. Several staff standing on the deck watching me walk in the rain. When I got to them, informed that last walkers allowed in at 3.30pm. Why, on the weekend in the middle of summer, do you close so early? 5hrs of daylight remaining. Idea: how about advertising that you close unreasonably early out on the main road with your signage, or even as one enters the gate? No, sorry, I can't "come back tomorrow" as I'm leaving for the coast. My opportunity to see this and offload $$ was today.
