My Experience with Roatan 21 Tours - This has been one of the very best experiences I have ever had on a Shore Excursion. As a Travel Consultant, I have been almost everywhere and I could assure you, Jose Carlos made our experience a one to remember and make plans to come back. Excellent communications, superb service, knowledgeable and committed to excellence. He and his team will make your time go by without noticing and will make your trip so smooth and enjoyable.

Hot garbage - We booked with Carambola tours, Mellie(tour narrator) and Francisco (driver) I think that were the names, anywho Mellie was informative and some what entertaining. I don't even remember how much we paid for tour but it was not worth it. We went to the west end downtown shopping area and were dropped off at a chocolate factory, nothing to write home about. Husband and I just walked around for a bit then found the bus parked off to the side in a parking area and got back in and waited for everyone else to return. Now off the the west end beach we go, by this time the entire bus was hungry. Mellie asked us what we wanted to do almost everyone said eat, a few wanted to rent beach chairs. We arrived and were escorted to a specific restaurant, there are more places to eat on the beach than this one specific restaurant. Hubby and I sucked it up against our better judgement and ordered and ate, again nothing spectacular. Before we were escorted to the restaurant we mentioned we needed to go to an ATM, stupid us didn't use the ATM on the ship. USE THE ATM ON THE SHIP. We got escorted to a little shop on the beach who took our card and charged $20 for cash back/ATM she swiped the card and got the cash out of the register. Now back to the restuarant experience, we ate, got ready to pay, I gave the attendant/cashier my debt card she swipes it and came back saying it was declined, I opened my banking app on my phone just to see the charge and more than enough money in my account to cover the bill. Hubby's turn to try with his debt card, same thing declined, opened the app just to see the charge pending. I paid with the cash we took out from the shop ATM and walked out, Hubby was haggling with Mellie (tour narrator) and someone from the restaurant about the charges and what not, I'm off to the side calling my bank. My card did get declined stating merchant issue, now hubbys card was not declined his was actually charged. Our bank gladly reversed the charge once we told the CSR on the phone we paid with cash. I do believe Carambola Tours or just the driver and narrator we had are either getting kick back from the restaurant or its a family business. Also if you plan on tipping the driver and narrator I suggest you bring smaller bills. They have a sign stating they need to be tipped separately.
