Journey from Cairo to the White Desert

White Desert, Egypt - Begin your adventure early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo. Travel to Bahariya Oasis, situated approximately 350 km east of Cairo. The drive takes around 4 hours, with scheduled stops for restroom breaks and coffee.
Upon arrival, switch to a 4x4 Jeep and head towards the Black Desert.

Crystal Mountain, Egypt - At 1:00 PM, continue your journey to Crystal Mountain, also known locally as Gebel al-Izzaz. This stunning crystal hill, often referred to as the Jewel of the Desert, is composed of quartzite crystals that glisten beautifully in the sunlight. This natural wonder was discovered by chance several decades ago.

Valley of Agabat - At 4:00 PM, proceed to the Valley of Agabat, nestled deep within the White Desert. Experience the otherworldly beauty of this location, which was submerged under the sea millions of years ago. Over time, unique limestone and chalk formations have emerged. As the sky transitions from pink to a deep fiery orange, the rock formations fade into the silence. Enjoy a simple yet delicious meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables around a small fire. Bedouin staff will prepare dinner and set up desert camping.

Black Desert - The Black Desert is characterized by volcano-shaped mounds spread over approximately 30 km in western Egypt, between the White Desert to the south and Bahariya Oasis to the north. These mounds are topped with basalt sills, giving them their distinctive black appearance.

Return from the White Desert to Bahariya Oasis and Cairo

Bahariya Oasis - After a delightful breakfast in the desert, begin your journey back to Bahariya Oasis. Savor the tranquility of the desert during breakfast before returning to Bahariya in your 4×4.

Cairo - Reunite with your original private vehicle and head back to Cairo. Conclude your trip with a drop-off at the original starting point around 5 PM.
