It’s very strenuous, I’m... - It’s very strenuous, I’m a 56 year old male. Make sure you are an active and fit person before signing up for this activity. I did it in once before when I was in my 30’s and it was a breeze. But now I’m older, I found it hard. But it’s a great experience and the views at the top are excellent.

Great hike up the... - Great hike up the volcano. Wear hiking shoes as the trail is slippery especially on the way back. Thanks to our guide for carrying the most delicious snack which gave us energy needed for the trek!

Breathtakingly Beautiful Mountain Hike! - This absolutely incredible experience was the highlight of our 2-week trip to the Caribbean! Our guide, Adrian, was extremely knowledgeable and made the hike fun for everyone in our group who had different levels of hiking experience. The mountain was breathtakingly beautiful, and the hike was challenging enough to satisfy our group's more skilled hikers. Fair warning, though: if you are not a hiker, not in decent shape, and/or not accustomed to the heat, you should join a rainforest hike and not a hike to the crater. For those looking to enjoy nature's beauty and get a great workout, this is the tour for you!

Volcano Hike - Definitely need a tour guide for this hike. Trail is very difficult and can be dangerous without one. Very hard hike but definitely worth it for the view. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it a great experience.

If you have functional fitness, you can do this - I was nervous after reading all the reviews about how difficult it was, but it was easier than I anticipated. Myself (a 43yo woman) and my daughter (9yo) did this hike with small group. I was afraid she wasn't going to make it, but she was in the front the entire time. The first half up is a simple hike, the second half up is where the functional fitness comes in. If you can bend down, squat, raise one foot knee height, you'll be fine. There are some areas that you will be climbing over knee high boulders or roots and some areas that require you to walk a few steps up a root ladder. If you can walk 4 miles and are somewhat flexible than you'll do just fine. The guides work at your pace and break when needed. You get a snack and drink at the top. They won't leave you behind, plus if you really don't want to continue there are options to turn around early. The company is a local family owned business with rich knowledge of the island. If you are considering it, just try it. Worst case you get beautiful walk in the rainforest.

Great time on the volcano - Overall the hike is very lush and beautiful. We lucked out on our tour day, it was clear sky when we reached the top of the volcano. Adrien was our guide, he was very informative about the islands history and the vegetation we saw. The hike was tough, make sure you are prepared with good shoes, and plenty of water/snacks. One of the people we went with lost both of their soles on their shoes! Would’ve given it 5/5 but for a couple things; 1. We thought we booked a private tour direct through Tropical Tours. They ended up putting us with 2 other couples through Poinciana tours. 2. The description of the tour needs to include a warning on the difficulty level. The people we went with had no idea what they were getting themselves into and said they would’ve not booked if they had known. Overall we would definitely do it again and use a guide!

A challenging but well worth it hike through a lovely rainforest. - My husband and I ended up on a private hiking tour with the excellent guide Hilton. His favourite sayings were to "trust the process" and "follow the trail". Good advice! It is definitely a tour that you need to have decent fitness for and sturdy shoes, as you are literally climbing up and down rocks and slippery tree roots. Be prepared to return with cuts and bruises as souvenirs! The view of the volcano at the top was amazing, and because there were only 3 of us, it was so peaceful. And if the guide offers you a walking stick at the start, take it. We dont usually bother, but it became my best friend. Cheers Hilton for a great morning, and for keeping us in one piece.

Challenging but worth the scenery - This is definitely one for a decent level of fitness and sturdy walking shoes. It combines walking with climbing, scrambling up rocks, and scaling tree root ladders. All whilst sweating no end due to the humidity. Our guide was Hilton and as there was only me and my husband, we were able to enjoy his expertise. We got plenty of water stops, which you need, and the view at the top was fantastic. Hiltons motto was to just trust the process, take your time and watch the trail. Wise warning as we both came home with cuts and/or bruises! And if you're offered walking sticks, take them. They'll become your best friend.

PUT US IN HARM'S WAY. CHOSE MONEY OVER SAFETY - It was POURING rain and they say on their site that they should only have the hike when it's sunny. They proceeded and had us start hiking and climbing on treacherous wet rock. The guide kept saying that someone might break their legs. They should have cancelled or fully refunded, but they didn't. I am incredibly angry and disappointed and would never recommend this service to a friend.
