Highlights

You will be picked up at your hotel or from Port Zante in an air-conditioned van or open-air safari which will take on a journey through the streets of Basseterre which boasts the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the Caribbean.

The Circus, formally known as the Berkeley Memorial is modeled after the Piccadilly Circus in London, England. The green clock tower is a historic focal point, of the bustling commercial, financial and trading activity of the island’s capital. Journey to Independence Square, formerly known as Pall Mall Square, the former Slave Market.

Heading North, the island main road will take you to the historic St. Georges Anglican Church. Visit the first Anglican Church built in the British Caribbean in Middle Island to view the tombs of Sir Thomas Warner, who landed at Old Road Bay. You will then journey west on the island’s main road, passing quaint villages such as Boyd’s Village and Challengers Village onto Bloody Point and Bloody River named in remembrance of the Carib Indians, the island’s first inhabitants. Another historical site is Old Road which was the first British town in the entire Caribbean.

On the journey to Caribelle Batik on the left hand side of the road are stone petroglyphs, reminders of the Caribs. We will then visit Wingfield Estate and Romney Manor to see the magnificent old Saman tree which is more than 400 years old. Enjoy breathtaking views and capture the Island’s lush vegetation and verdant hills as you journey to the town of Sandy Point, the island’s second largest town. From the island main road, you will see the majestic Brimstone Hill Fortress. Turning right and driving upwards one can hear the sounds of birds and monkeys that live in the dense vegetation bordering the historical site. Brimstone Hill Fortress was built over a period of 104 years, starting in the late 16th century and was inducted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 40-acre site occupies different levels and offers spectacular sites of neighboring Caribbean islands. Having stepped back in time at Brimstone Hill, take the excursion back to tropical reality as you meander through the beautiful landscape of the island.

The tour will then proceed back to the capital city passing by an 18-hole golf course and stately homes on the slopes of the majestic hills in the background. Your tour will conclude with a stop at the top of Timothy Hill for a breathtaking view of the Frigate Bay affluent area. Then the tour will journey to South Friar’s Beach or Cockleshell Beach for the duration of 1-3 hours, depending on your request. There’s nothing like relaxing on the golden sandy beaches, listening to the waves gently lapping against the shoreline and sipping on a refreshing beverage in a tropical paradise.

The scenic drive from the beach adventure to the cruise terminal will be approximately 20-30 minutes.

Must see - Great tour for people cruising! Great driver! We would have liked more time at the fort and some better orientation. By the time we figured out, there was a museum inside the for, it was time to go. Museum film is dated and should be updated. So climb the Fort steps, and go into the fort and into the museum before you spend time, taking pictures of all the views! Loved the beach stop at the end of our trip. Recommend highly. Great guide in an hysterical open bus, Sound system was good. Guide - Capt JR made the trip memorable and fun with stops to see a Green Monkey and taste Old Road Rum. Shop local! Beach chairs and umbrella are available for a small fee.

Wonder Tour! Would definitely use again. - We had an amazing time with Captain sunshine tour and services. Dominick was our tour guide and he went above and beyond. He was very knowledgeable about his beautiful island’s history. We made several additional stops just so he could share some extra things about the island. We stopped to see and hold a monkey. He even took us to see several mongoose. He took pictures of everyone on our tour at the top of Timothy Hill. He seemed genuinely exciting to share information about the island and made us fall in love with St. Kitts. He dropped us at a beautiful beach and picked us up 2 hours later right on time. We would definitely use Captain Sunshine again.

This is a must!

A pleasant day in St. Kitts - We had been to St. Kitts twice before but had gone snorkeling or to Nevis. After walking down the pier and through the gates at the port, Captain Sunshine was waiting for us in front of the casino just to the right after passing through the gates. We saw Brimstone Fort, an old rum distillery (tasting $5), and Romney Manor. As we traveled through the town on our way to the beach our driver pointed out various local landmarks (churches, parks, statues, etc) and we stopped at Timothy Hill overlook for some photos. Our guide suggested Frigate Bay beach but I there are several nearby and I think you have your choice. At Frigate Bay the bar/restaurant had free wifi, beer $3, frozen drinks $9, two beach chairs with umbrella $10. Note: the dark volcanic sand on these beaches can get rather hot in the afternoon sun so you’ll want flip flops or beach shoes. After our time at the beach, we were taken back to the port shopping area and dropped off.

Best way to see all of St. Kitts! - Our friendly tour guide, Brian, provided us with an outstanding, well-narrated ride around the entire island. His driving and planned stops were considerate and timely. This was the most enjoyable island tour we’ve ever been on!

Short and sweet - This was a great excursion. Wish we would have had more time at Brimstone since we were only there about 40 minutes. There is a 7 minute video you watch then it is not an easy climb to get to the top of the fortress which took us about 10 minutes. We didn't have enough time to look at everything and we paid extra $10 for the hand held audio guide but couldn't hear it over the wind. The view was spectacular. The other stops were great also but beware of the people with pet monkeys, they set them on your shoulder and head then offer to take pictures and then charge you $10. The beach restaurant was wonderful and beaches were beautiful. Lots of hidden gems on this excursion.

HORROR!!!!! - HORROR!!! DO NOT BUY THIS TOUR WITH CAPTAIN SUNSHINE!!!!! It was a nightmare! Shane, the guy that should have been our guide, did not take us to the places included in the tour, he did not explain anything. Never again! We had included the Fortress in our tour, but Shane didn't bring us there. We had to visit 2 beautiful beaches, but he took us to a beach near a construction site. Nothing like paradise. We paid 198 Euro for 3 people and got nothing for that money.
