This adventure to Mt Liamuiga (Mount Misery) Volcano begins with a hike starting at 700 feet above sea level, ascending to 3100 feet. Marvel at the volcano’s crater, the summit at 3792 feet (1,156 meters) - the highest point in St Kitts and Nevis, and gaze down at the community below, as well as the volcano on the neighboring island.
Please select a 9 a.m. departure only if your ship arrives after 7:30 a.m. Kindly include the arrival time in the notes.
Remember to bring extra clothes to change into after the hike. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, let us know, and we can arrange a celebratory drink package.

Great experience climbing Mount Liamuiga - Djae was very informative and helpful throughout the whole experience. They told us interesting facts about the city while driving to the hike and the nature on the hike. During the trickier portions of the climb, Djae would tell us exactly how to do it in the safest way both up and down the trail. Djae even helped hikers from a different tour group when they lost sight of their guide. This hike is not easy, and you definitely need a guide, and these guys handled everything perfectly. Also the snacks and drink they gave us were so good.
If I'm ever back in St Kitts, I'd happily book with these guys again.

Our tour to the crater... - Our tour to the crater rim of Mt. Liamuiga was a great experience. JB Taxi & Excursions guides Djae and Elly did a good job pushing my family to exceed our physical limits and complete the climb. They gave both support and encouragement in just the right amount whenever it was needed. They even gave some help to unguided hikers who were not traveling with us. They provided walking sticks for our use which were very helpful. Djae and Elly were informative regarding wildlife and helped us spot some African green (vervet) monkeys in the treetops. They engaged in conversation to distract us from the rigors of the climb, including recommendations for activities on Nevis. Visibility from the top of the mountain was less than we hoped because of cloudy conditions but the fulfillment of accomplishing our goal still made the trip satisfying.

Challenging, but so worth it! - This was so challenging but the view was so worth it! My husband and I did this on our honeymoon and it was by far the best activity we did! Our tour guide was so nice and helpful and educated us along the way. We are so glad we booked this hike!

- Our guides Djae and Janeel were excellent as was the hike. The hike was beautiful with a lot of diversity in hiking terrain - dirt path, roots, boulders - even a few spots where we used ropes. I am so glad we went with our guides instead of trying to do this on our own. Not only did they have the knowledge and resources to get us the top and back, they also had tricks - like where to put foot and hand placement for a few places where ropes and climbing was necessary to continue. I don't think I personally could have done this hike without them. They were also very good at making sure everyone in the group was good - having two guides was helpful as we had two different paces within our group and that assured that everyone could enjoy the hike safely. The one note I would suggest to the company, is to send the "What to bring" list earlier as most people have to pack what they need more than a few days in advance. We had a few travelers in our group that didn't have the correct gear - they made it fine but probably would have been more comfortable if they had. I love that they provided a walking stick, meaning I didn't have to pack mine. For reference, I'm 46 and not in the shape I would like to be in - but I made it and felt accomplished. My 17 year old son is very athletic and loved the hike - he said it was the best one he has ever done. (Next time, were going to send him on a private hike with Janeel so he can go into the crater).

Great hike - Lovely hike, we went up within 1 hour 40 (whole thing around 3:30 with a break) but would be challenging for lots of people as a bit of scrambling on vines/roots/rocks. There is a rest around every 15 mins (8 stops total one way) which is great if larger group. It rained for us which we were worried would ruin the view but it was so fun being at the top of the volcano in the rain and clouds/torrential storm! Also a nice temperature to be walking in. Definitely wear hiking shoes! Was a private tour as just me my partner and the guide Jacquan! Taxi guy Wasim was lovely too. Picked us up and dropped us off, also pointed out local landmarks. Great communication before the hike too with everything we needed.

My favourite Caribbean Volcano thus far, and favourite guides too! - My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Janeel and Djae as our guides on our trek up Mt. Liamuiga - a truly special hike for our 9th anniversary.
Both of these guys were professional, helpful, pleasant, funny - i could go on and on!
I've hiked volcanoes in the Caribbean before, but this one was a real challenge for me. My advice is that if you're not already active, to train before doing this one, especially if you want to ensure that you make it up and back in under 5 hours.
All that said, these brothers displayed the utmost patience and support for me when I struggled or slowed the pace.
The views and the fresh crisp air at the top were of course well worth the struggle of the 3 hours uphill hike! In my opinion, this was the best of all the volcanoes I've trekked thus far!
A must do! No regrets!

Hike in Saint Kitts. Mount Liamuiga Volcano. - Good hike overall. Our guide and the staff were great. This hike is strenuous. Sometimes TripAdvisor rates something as strenuous but the activity is pretty easy. This is not one of them. My wife and we are both physically fit and it was a challenge! Make sure you have shoes with good traction. The views at the top were amazing. Would we do it again? No. Are we glad we did it? Absolutely!

“A walk in the park” as Djae likes to say haha - Today, i went on a hike up Mt. Liamuiga with Djae and Sunshine from JB Taxi &Excursions. For my first time hiking on this scale i had a great experience. I won’t lie the hike is challenging at points (steep aspects of the trail) but very doable. Well worth the amazing view when you get to the top. Djae and Sunshine were very knowledgable about the different plants along the trail. It’s quite humid as you go up and am thankful to the team for the pace in which we hiked up and down. I think this should be on anybodies list of things to do while they visit st kitts. Very unique experience that offers a great view of st kitts and the surrounding islands.
