Chocolate tasting in Basle - Fantastic experience. An informative and enjoyable taster session in a friendly relaxed environment.

Great chocolate tasting experience in Basel - worth the time and money!! Don't pass this one up! - We were in Basel for a day before we embarked on our river cruise on the Rhine River. We booked this chocolate tasting to learn more about chocolate and do something in our short time in Basel. The owner/operator of the chocolate tasting was friendly and very informed about the science about cocoa bean and the chocolate making process. We were able to try many different chocolates made from cocoa beans from around the world. This was a great experience. He also told us how to properly store chocolate to ensure the best tasting experiences. We also booked the cheese tasting which was also provided by the same operator in the same location. If you are going to do the chocolate tasting, book the cheese tasting as well. One bird, two stones. Both were great experiences and worth the money and time.

Enjoyable good value experience - A great 40 mins of information and chocolate tasting by a v knowledgeable nice chap We made the error of following the address as opposed to shop name. There is a similar road name about 15 mins away we went to first !

Really delucious! - This was a presentation in a local shop by the shop owner. He was very knowledgeable about the making of chocolate from the cocoa bean to the final product. We learned so much about the sources of cocoa beans to the history of chocolate to the differences in the different types of chocolate. We tasted at least 8 different chocolates. Although he had chocolate bars for sale in his shop, there was no obligation or pressure to buy. Overall, a great experience! Who doesn't love chocolate!

Nice chocolate and information - The chocolate was amazing; who knew where the beans would come from impacted the flavors? A delight for chocolate lovers!! We loved this!

don't recommend - I recently attended a chocolate tasting "tour" that left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. The tasting consisted of six pieces of store-bought chocolate, which was a major letdown right from the start. The host herself openly admitted that the chocolates were not handmade or special in anyway, which completely undermined the whole experience. When we arrived there were no signage or indication that we were sampling something as basic as store-bought chocolate. To make matters worse, the owners of the establishment brought their child along, which was highly unprofessional as am sure there would be able to hire a babysitter due to the amount of customers they are scamming. This was not what we signed up for, and I would not recommend this tasting to anyone looking for a genuine chocolate experience.

No show - We arrived at the meeting location 15 minutes early and stayed 15 minutes after scheduled time, no one showed at to do the tasting. The store had a closed sign. I have requested at refund

Total Rip Off - Total waste of money!!! squeezed 18 people into a tiny room with a broken up block of chocolate to taste - save yourself and just buy a block of chocolate from the supermarket….. Rude staff, total rip off

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, RUDE, FRAUDULENT - DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!! Arrived at the venue ahead of time by about 20 min. Already had a group in there tasting so was waiting until they finished, store said closed so didn’t interrupt. Got to our booked time, time passed. Waited until ten minutes later and got the attention of the female member of staff. She told me we had wrong place. Showed her booking and she confirmed was right place but was not expecting us. She said she would check with colleague. Went away for five minutes, didn’t come back. We could still see her through glass. She came to the window after I called her over and wrote on her phone. ‘Sorry you shouldn’t be able to book. No tasting. Contact your tour operator’. Didn’t even want to speak to us. I opened the door and a male member of staff came over incredibly threatening. Said we had the wrong date or place. Again showed the booking which showed we were in right date time and place. He said it was tour operator fault and slammed door in my face. Appreciate the venue are blaming the tour operator but I still would not book this experience. Staff are rude and threatening. Still waiting for a refund and haven’t heard anything back. COMPLETE FRAUDS
