A must-do for a brief overview or to get your bearings for a longer stay - I only had a few hours to explore the city following a conference and this was a perfect tour! Our guide (I didn’t get her name unfortunately but she was fantastic!) did a great job. Our tour was to be delivered in German & English but our group was mostly English speakers and the gracious German-speaking attendees offered to just get the tour in English so the guide didn’t have to jump back and forth. It was very considerate of them to suggest it and the guide made sure all of the German speakers would be comfortable to only have the tour in English. The tour still ran for 2 hours and the guide did such a great job! From early Celtic settlers to more recent times, she covered a tremendous amount of history in 2 hours. We stopped at a number of sites along the way that are detailed in the itinerary and our guide provided insightful and interesting commentary at every stop. It was clear she enjoyed her job! I highly recommend this tour for any visitor to Basel to get a great sense of the history of the city and a good coverage of top sights to see. I found it very easy to backtrack our tour and visit sites that were highlighted along the way.

Brilliant Tour - A very informative afternoon and our guide was fantastic. Learnt an awful lot out the history of the city, along with a few recommendations on other places to visit.

Best of Basel's Old Town - This walking tour was very interesting. Isabelle was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. She told us about Basel's history and what made Basel the city it is today. She took us to places in Old Town we never would have found ourselves. If I can only remember one half of what she told us, I will be one of the most knowledgeable people around.

A great tour - Some reviewers don’t like the commentary switching between German and English. For us this was not an issue and indeed we liked the chance to pickup on a bit of German. Lukas was our guide and he did a superb job. Tour was informative, well paced and entertaining with a nice range of topics. We simply would have not been able to find a couple of the places in our short stay in Basel. Great value (seniors rate) and one of the best tours of this type that we have taken ( certainly in the top three). Nicely done.

Great visit of old town Basel - Mark was personable and brought the city to life historically. We had wandered all over on our own but he brought the history and culture th share light on what we saw on our own.

Switzerland Basel an industrial city on the Rhine - Early July, a few days in Basel, a very industrial city, an old town The medieval that develops around the Marktplatz square, among the attractions the brick town hall. The city is located on the border of France and Germany on the banks of the Rhine River

Poor - Not worth if you are English speaking. Most time explanation goes in German. Maybe good if you understand language but for English speakers not informative at all. Choose fully English tour

Worst Viator Experience ever! - This was the worst experience we have ever had with a Viator tour. We will NOT be using Viator again. We paid $100 EUR for four of us to have want we thought was an English speaking hour tour. The tour turned out to be a large group with both English and German. Half the time we just stood there not understanding what was being discussed, while the German group was laughing and asking questions. The guide did not attempt at all to give us the information she was giving them. After 15 minutes, we bailed on the tour. TOTAL waste of money!
