Tour of a delicious city - Lima is one of the most delicious cities in the world. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced (for Amerians). It's easy to find excellent restaurants for gourmet-ish cuisine, but it's also nice to discover and try-out local, everyday Peruvian fare. That's what this tour is about.
Our guide, Alejandro (actually from Cuba--but, 9 years in Peru) was knowledgeable, entertaining and an overall good guy. He took us to 4 restaurants in Barranco and we had a nice tour of the main eating/entertaining area in the district. The restaurants varied wildly from famous/upscale-ish to corner-bakery. Similarly, the food varied from a delicious seafood/rice dish to a dessert in a plastic cup. All were accompanied by Alejandro's description of the history/importance of the dish and other details about Barranco.
It was nice having a walk between stops to (partially) digest. We enjoyed the tour very much.

Perfect for the beginning of your trip - I had tried Peruvian food before and loved it. This food tastes too good to live without it. On my first day in Peru I decided to take this culinary tour to learn a little more about the history of Peruvian gastronomy. In addition to trying delicious dishes, I learned a lot about the Asian fusion that exists in this country, specifically Chinese and Japanese, which has resulted in foods like ceviche and chaufa.

Food Tour in Barranco Lima - Taking a gastronomic tour in Lima was one of our priorities and after reading some blogs we realized that Barranco was the right place to try authentic Peruvian food. The tour started near the central park of Barranco and as we headed to the first restaurant we were able to see beautiful murals made by local artists like Jade Rivera. The food at each restaurant was delicious but the Causa at the Javier restaurant definitely stole my heart.

The most pleasant thing was the surprise, stopping, looking at the place, friendly, beautiful decoration and a delicious lunch - We chose the restaurant at random, big surprise! It is a seafood restaurant, very well served. Our dishes are delicious and very well presented. The fresh products, we ordered clams and pasta with prawns. Little variety of desserts.
During the summer it is very congested, it is located in a resort south of Lima

Tour cancelled - Cancelled very last minute with no explanation offered - very poor!
Clearly are not reliable given other similar reviews we've now seen. Would recommend putting your trust elsewhere!

Absolute disgrace, not reliable, don't book - Booked a food tour that was cancelled on the morning of the day of the tour without any explanation. It was our last day in Lima and we had planned our day around that activity of course. Absolute disgrace.

Our Guide was a no-show and never communicated with us - The Guide never showed. We were there on time. I had written a question several weeks before through the app and never had a response. Shiortly before we were to meet again wrote and didn’t get a response. We waited quite a while at the Starbucks in Barranco looking around for a possible guide. We were hugely disappointed that no one ever communicated with us and certainly no one ever showed up.

Find a more reliable company and skip this one - Poor communication and canceled at the last minute. No excuses even offered. Unprofessional clowns. Couldn't find a tour to replace it since they gave us 2 hours notice when they canceled. So disappointed that we don't have time to get another chance to taste the various restaurants. Full refund given so that is positive.

cancel without warning - We were there. And to find out it was canceled . They didn't told us in advance . We are waiting for a refound. We should been advise prior to avoid the taxi's fees to be at the meeting point. It is just after trying to reach them that they say it was canceled. Not professionnal. It was our last day and we are very expecting to do that tour.
