Try this tour! - I had a wonderful day on this tour with Gianluca! He is the owner of the company, and we drove to Altamura, for a taste of the delicious bread baked old-world style since 1391! We then traveled to the beautiful town of Matera for a breathtaking 4 hours of walking through the Sassi community, visiting the church of St. Agostino, the Duomo Cathedral, and then stopping for a delicious lunch at the highest point of the Sassi! This tour is great and I highly recommend it!

Fantastic day out - Fantastic day out. Visited Altamura first a wonderful small historic town with a 14th century bakery still producing bread. Then we traveled onto Matera where we spent 4 hours wandering Sassi di Matera. Matera was unbelievable and much larger than we originally expected. Matera is a must to see in Italy. Definitely recommend this experience.

Great tour, recommended! - Great tour, Gianluca took care of all our questions & requests sometimes even before they were rising. We left on time, arriving early in Altamura having some free time to see the town, then tasting some local delicacies together. In Matera we had a luxorious 4 hour stay which allowed us to do an in-depth visit of several sights in town, overall good coverage of Matera. Have good walking shoes! Arrived on time in Bari snd Gianluca dropped is off in place of our wishes.

Matera and Altamura - Both towns were very unique and wonderful to visit. In Altimura it is a must to see both of the historic bakeries - best in Italy. Try the bread, focaccia, and their sweets. Matera was breathtaking to see. One of the neatest towns to see in Europe.

Beautiful countryside - Marco was our driver and friendly. He was on time for our departure at each location. There was enough time to enjoy both stops: Alta Mura for an hour and a half and Matera for four hours. It is an incredible part of the world and if you’re looking for a private taxi, it was great. My only criticism and reason for not giving 5 stars is that he didn’t speak to us at all unless he had to. I wasn’t expecting a guided tour by any means, but he chatted away with the Italian couple about the sites we were visiting and gave us the bare minimum. Obviously English is his second language and maybe he felt uncomfortable speaking it, but even a few words about where we were going or seeing, or the history during the drive would have been appreciated.

Day trip to Matera - This tour provided car transfer to Matera and Altamura. We explored two places on our own. Matera is magnificent in where we spent three hours. Regretted that we could not find and see cave houses.

Not a great experience overall - The driver was very friendly and kind. He transferred us to the two places smoothly and gave us some basic info of the sites as I expected. At the end of the trip, he even dropped us to our staying apartment. The reason I give it a 3 star rating is the experience with the agency. In Matera, we had a hard time to find the caves the agency told us that it’s admission was included. I messaged them and used the address they provided, but no success. I used what’s app call to reach them, but the call was not answered. Instead, they sent me a question mark in the message. A visitor I met on the road offered to call the agency to ask more info ( My cell phone plan only had internet coverage) The agency didn’t give the number and messaged me- the call won’t make a difference. They had told me everything…etc. Later on, the owner reached out and sent me his/her number. But by that time, I was already annoyed enough and gave up searching for the mysterious caves. The experience definitely ruined our experience in Matera.
