A Truly Special Tour with an Extraordinary Guide - We had the absolute best tour experience with José during our trip to Montserrat this morning. It truly became the highlight of our entire Barcelona vacation. From the moment we met him, José made us feel welcome and excited for the journey ahead. He brings not just deep knowledge but genuine passion to every part of the tour. He shared amazing insights about the rock formations, the rich history of Montserrat, and so many other fascinating details that brought everything to life through story telling. But beyond the facts, it was José’s warmth, enthusiasm, and engaging personality that made the experience so special. It felt like exploring with a friend who genuinely cared about making the day memorable. As a family traveling with kids, it meant so much to have a guide who was not only informative but also kind, patient, and engaging with all of us. José made sure everyone felt included and created an experience that we’ll talk about for years to come. I honestly wish José could have guided every tour we did in Barcelona. If you’re planning a trip, don’t miss the chance to tour with him he’s truly one of a kind, and I have no doubt he’ll go on to do great things. Thank you, José, for such a beautiful and unforgettable day!

Amazing location with great service and unbeatable views. - Great tour in an amazing setting . Montserrat was beautiful both for the natural mountain setting as well as the basilica and monastery. Our guide was very knowledgeable and really friendly. He also offered us good recommendations outside of the tour’s scope for the rest of our visit.

Montserrat is Brilliant. - What a great visit we had to Montserrat. It is a really lovely location and Marcel’s description of the history of Montserrat was riveting. He is a personable character. The bonus is that he collected us from our hotel (& dropped us off).

Must see Monserrat, Spain - We had a wonderful day trip to Monserrat. Our tour guide, Teo, did an amazing job explaining the history and blending in interesting and funny facts. (He was also a great driver!) The tour was at a nice relaxing pace which allowed us ample time to take photos, explore the area, shop, and grab a snack. I would definitely recommend the private day trip to Monserrat with Teo!!

Great Views from the top. - Communications with our guide, Jose Ignacio, before the hotel pickup were good and the pickup went smoothly. The hour drive to Montserrat was used to learn about Montserrat and the Monastery. Jose was very knowledgeable about the history of Montserrat (but we also we shared thoughts about other issues in today’s world.) Jose was an interesting person to spend a few hours with. We had been to the Monastery at Montserrat many years ago. We knew we wanted to visit the church and the Black Madonna again, but we were not sure about what else. Jose suggested taking the funicular to the top of the mountain. (The Abbey is only about half way up.) I did not remember a funicular from our previous visit and we took his suggestion. There were a few ramps and stairways down then up between the Monastery Plaza and the start of the funicular and I have mobility issues. Jose was a great help in navigating my way. The views from the top were spectacular. Montserrat is essentially a big hunk of rock rising, pretty much straight vertically, over 4000 ft. above the surrounding terrain. For comparison, my wife and I had recently taken a cable car ride to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Sugar Loaf is a big hunk of rock rising vertically only about 1300 ft. above the surrounding terrain. The tallest skyscraper in the world, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, rises only 2717 ft. above the terrain below. My point is, Montserrat was an amazing opportunity. We greatly enjoyed the Monastery, the great views from the top, and our time spent with Jose.
