Beautiful views and organic wine - The views at Montserrat were beautiful. Javi was able to keep a diverse group of participants together and engaged. This is very difficult and a reason we rarely go on large tours. The winery was ok, organic wine really isn't my first choice in a land of delicious wines, but they graciously accommodated our food restrictions. A good day trip out of the city.

Unfortunate - This tour had a few bumps along the way. Once we got up the mountain to Montserrat we immediately were in dead stop traffic. Our guides didn’t know what the problem was. After some google searches from the other people taking the tour, we found out the monastery was celebrating its 1000th year. Due to that, we had to walk one mile up hill to reach the platform with the shuttle buses or we wouldn’t be able to see the monastery. Once we got to the platform, we were informed the shuttle buses would take too long and had to walk an additional 15 minutes up hill. Due to being delayed we had limited free time. I quickly went to the cross, but just to warn it is incredibly steep and all gravel. It’s a hard hike. After that we went to the winery. Our tour guide Mayi was actually the one to give us the tasting, which we thought was weird. She was great, but we thought someone who produced or worked at the winery would give the tasting. Also, the castle was freezing. Colder than outside, so just a warning. Mayi was amazing under the circumstances. We do not blame her for not knowing about the festival, but we think the company should’ve known. While Montserrat was gorgeous, we were disappointed with how the day ended up.
