Highlights
- Palace of Catalan Music - This tour leaves from right across the famous Palau de la Musica, one of Barcelona’s most visited attractions. It is not possible to visit inside at this time of the morning, but the Modernist facade is worth more than few photographs.
- Port Vell (Old Port) - We leave for Montserrat at 8.15am, heading down towards the old port of Barcelona and then on past the Columbus Statue at the end of the Ramblas.
- Montjuic - As we head out of the city, you will pass Montjuïc. This area, is the site of the Olympic Stadium and is known as the lungs of Barcelona. Your guide will tell you more about the history of the famous hill as you drive by.
- Montserrat - Less than an hour after leaving Barcelona, the unforgettable sight of Montserrat Mountain comes into view. This geological wonder dominates the landscape for miles around, and is the perfect setting for the famous Montserrat Monastery.
- Abadia de Montserrat - The world-famous monastery, high up in the mountain of Montserrat, is our destination. There is an entry fee to the Basilica, and you can purchase your pre reserved tickets separately in our office before the tour. You’ll also have time to wander around the stunning mountain paths, take the funicular to a stunning viewpoint, or follow your guide to the lookout at the Cross of St. Miquel. Montserrat is one of the most iconic attractions in all of Catalunya, and it never fails to delight.
- Pacs del Penedes - Our final stop of the day takes you deep into the wine region of Catalunya. You will visit a charming family owned winery for an intimate visit and a lengthy wine tasting. You will get a chance to walk through the fields, touching and seeing up close the vines, explore their underground cellars, learn how they produce the famous sparkling Cava wine, and finish the day with a wine tasting of 4 different types of wine.
- Vilafranca del Penedes - After a morning in Montserrat, we will head down the mountain and into the heart of the wine country. We take the back roads that meander through the fields full of grape vines as we head to a beautiful old farmhouse, set right in the heart of vineyards. The restaurant we have chosen serves delicious delicious traditional seasonal dishes.

Additional Information
- There will be time off the bus at your leisure, so please bring suitable clothing, footwear, and sun protection. Remember that temperatures at high altitudes will be much lower than in the city, so although it may be warm in Barcelona, please remember that it will be much cooler in the mountains.

Perfect day outside the city - What a wonderful day we had outside the city. Everything from the time in Montserrat, to lunch, to the winery tour and tasting. Our guide Rod was very knowledgable and gave us a great day!

Amazing sights, fun and knowledgeable tour guide, great lunch - This was the highlight of our time in Barcelona. David went above and beyond + amazing lunch- best of our entire trip. Do this tour!!! Great value for the cost and you will enjoy every minute!

Perfect day away from the city hustle - Great full day of experience. Our tour,guide David, knew best places to go. Food was great. Winery was great also. Montessori was beautiful. Value equation is perfect.

Views, Good Food and Great Wine - We spent our last day in Barcelona on this tour and it was wonderful. Our tour guide, David, was knowledge, personable and always very helpful. Montserrat was beautiful and we had plenty of time to explore the church and the trails/views. We enjoyed some authentic and delicious Cataluña food in a lovely local restaurant. The winery tour and tasting were thoroughly enjoyable and we shipped home some excellent wines. A great day.

Best day full of memories! - Sergio was a wealth of knowledge, being educated, experienced and local. Great storyteller. The monastery including the small museum, and the winery, were a great (and fun) value!

Montserrat and wine tour - Our guide, David, and our driver, Pedro, were both fantastic! The monastery was very cool, the lunch was delicious and the wine tour with Carlos at Perés Baltá was fantastic! Highly recommend a great day like this one!

Mystical Monserrat with David - David and Pedro made our day muy memorable… taking us to mystical Monserrat and later to an enjoyable Cava wine tour that opened our eyes (and palettes) to new worlds!
It’s the best way to spend a day on your next Barcelona trip!!!!!

Good vibes good views good wine - Views were amazing and David was cracking us up with his mannerisms and stories about Catalonia, Montserrat and wine country. He also kept us on time which as Americans we appreciated. Lunch (La Posada) was delicious and then the wine tasting and wine guide was so friendly. Pedro was a great driver! Definitely felt nice to get out of the city of Barcelona for the day.
