• Barcelona - The tour begins at 8:30 AM as we depart from Barcelona. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.

Hotel pickups occur between 8:00 and 8:30 AM (approximately 30 minutes), followed by a 90-minute drive to our first destination.

• L’Eixample District - As we leave the city, we pass through this renowned area, known for its landmarks and stunning architecture.
• Dali Theatre-Museum - Around 10 AM, we arrive in Figueres, the birthplace of Dali, which hosts the world’s largest and most significant collection of his works at the iconic Dali Theatre-Museum. This museum is likely unlike any other you’ve visited! It’s a journey into Dali’s surreal world of imagination. This “biggest surrealist monument ever made” was entirely designed and decorated by Dali himself, offering a walk through his life. An expert guide provides in-depth commentary in the morning, and after a brief introduction inside the museum, you are free to explore, wonder, and immerse yourself in Dalí’s imagination at your own pace. Personal interpretation is encouraged, as it was highly valued by the artist.
• Figueres - We spend the morning in this charming city near the French border, with a history dating back to the 9th century. Explore its squares, quaint streets with shops, a beautiful Rambla promenade, and several tributes to Dali in the old city during your free time. We spend about 2.5 hours here, including the museum visit.
• Cap de Creus National Park - As we drive, we pass through this mountainous protected National Park surrounding the town of Cadaqués. It offers spectacular views of the Empordà region, the beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava, and possibly the Pyrenees mountains in the distance. Observe the scenery closely to find elements that inspired Dali’s imagination.
• Cadaques - At 1:30 PM, we arrive in Cadaqués, which we at Joyous Tours consider the jewel of the Costa Brava. This stunning, well-preserved old fishing village with white-washed houses is quintessentially Mediterranean. Enjoy ample free time for a Mediterranean lunch featuring fresh fish and seafood, and explore the village.
• Salvador Dali House - At 3:30 PM, after a delightful lunch, we take the scenic route through the protected Cap de Creus National Park to Portlligat Bay, a place of great inspiration for Dalí and where many of his famous paintings were created. Here, we find his house and studio, Dali and Gala’s private paradise. A guided tour of the house includes a visit to his studio, followed by free time in the garden. We then return to Barcelona. During the drive back, reflect on this unique experience or take a quick nap.
• Barcelona - We return to Barcelona around 7 PM, bringing you back to your accommodations and concluding a memorable day. Hopefully, it left you as inspired as Dalí’s mustache!
