Excellent road biking experience ! - I had an amazing time riding with Claudio. The gulls around Barcelona are wonderful. The three climbs on the way to Tibidabo were challenging but definitely doable, the last one being the longest and toughest. I was so happy Claudio made me feel good and totally capable of doing the climbs. He is a good companion and when riding around the city he made sure to make it all safe. The bike was top notch, carbon with Shimano drivetrain. Claudio even arranged to bring clipless shoes for me as I didn't want to carry that thru the airport when flying in. This was a great experience so book it if you have some road cycling experience ! You will not be disappointed.

The best of the best if you want to expose Barcelona in a sportiff way! - The perfect way to explore the surroudings of Barcelonia with your personal guide Claudio. With his eleven years of experience he's taking care of you. Has the knowledge to see very quick your level of experience with riding in a big city with the traffic and your overall riding experience. The ride itselve (4 hours) is wonderful with nice climbs and decents on very good roads bringing you above Barcelona plus also near the nice beaches in the north of the city. Great Riding in Barcelona with Montefusco Cycling - Outstanding experience on guided ride and bike rental! I was fortunate enough to stay in Barcelona for a month and joined Claudio for two rides and rented a bike for three weeks from him. As a guide, Claudio is a great guy who speaks excellent English and has a real love for cycling. While I’m an avid cyclist, I’m not exactly in racing shape anymore so I was apprehensive about riding with such a strong cyclist, but Claudio is a great riding companion and never seemed the least bit aggravated by my slow pace on the climbs. The bike I rented from him was a carbon Giant TCR that was in perfect condition with a sub-compact crank and generous cassette (I think it was a 28 or maybe even a 32). This is helpful because there is quite a bit of hill climbing around Barcelona (my rides typically involved 2000-3500 feet of elevation gain). But the roads are very well graded (rarely exceeding 7%) and the weather and views are so good, the miles just fly by. The riding around Barcelona is outstanding. Great road surfaces, well graded roads, beautiful weather and views and, best of all, polite drivers. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that riding through Barcelona itself was generally safe with numerous dedicated bike lanes and even bike/pedestrian ways—though it took me a couple rides to get a feel for the flow of riding through town. While not Amsterdam, there is an endless stream of bike commuters throughout town and it’s often the quickest way to get around. If you are an avid road cyclist, I would highly recommend renting a bike from Claudio if you are spending time in Barcelona. If you do rent a bike from him, I would recommend doing the local hills with Claudio on your first rental day. He’ll show you the best routes through the hills, the cyclist cafes to stop at, and will even ride back to your place to show you the safest route. You can then use that route to get up into the hills and explore differing loops. Overall, an outstanding experience with Montefusco Cycling!

Epic - Fantastic!!!! I did 2 rides- monserrat and hills of Barcelona. I never could have done the rides by myself. Having a guide helped me go fast and enjoy the views without any worries. Might even come back to Barcelona just to do more! The bike was also very nice and perfectly tuned.

Great ride above Barcelona - What a great experience in Barcelona riding with Claudio! Easy online registration, pickup at my residence and a nice Giant carbon bike made the ride very enjoyable. The Hills above Barcelona tour was a ride with challenging climbs and fast descents. the views were amazing and the majority of roads were newly paved. The ride includes urban path riding so be prepared for that. Claudio is a knowledgeable, delightful host who adapts to your riding style and speed. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys climbing (4700 feet) and wants to see Barcelona from a different view.

Tours as described. Great views on low traffic roads you wouldn't find without some research. Claudio makes a big effort - Booked two tours, Barcelonae Hills and Magic Mountain Montserrat. Easy to book and my contacts with Claudio were quick and helpful. Got unlucky with the weather. Rained a bit during the Montserrat before the first descent so Claudio was extra careful on the way down. It doesn't rain often so the road could have been difficult. Two days later it poured. Claudio was booked out so it was cancel or postpone. Instead, he sent me the route for the Hills around Barcelona and let me hang onto the bike. Perfect weather on great quiet roads. 80 km up to Tibidabo from the back. Finally got a view of Montserrat. Just dropped the bike at the bikeshop and jumped on the metro. back in. The Giant roadbike was in great condition. If you want to do some rides without bringing all your gear. This is your guy.

Great cycling around Barcelona - Fantastic morning cycling from Barcelona up into the hills to the north of the city. Claudio picked us up from our accommodation in Gràcia and after a short drive to the outskirts, which gave us a chance to discuss the current status of the Vuelta and professional cycling in general, we parked. We provided the specs for our bikes previously and the Orba bikes supplied were excellent. After a short ride on a river path we hit the beach and rode the foreshore for about 20k, then to the hills. It was hot, so we only did two medium climbs - not too steep - then back to the beach for a healthy and tasty lunch before a short ride back to the van. The cycling was great. Good roads and once out of town very quiet. Claudio was an excellent host, making sure we were safe and waiting for us to catch him on the hills. He does longer tours to into the Catalan hills and along the coast if you are interested. We might be back when we have more time!

Another Great Tour with Montefusco Cycling - This was my third cycling tour with Claudio Montefusco. The first was 2019 with a group of 8 on a 9 day TransPyrenees tour. The second was a ride the day before with my wife (on an E bike) around Barcelona. She is not an experienced rider; Claudio was patient and took us on a course that kept her comfortable and confident. The most recent was a solo with Claudio in the Montseny mountains outside of Barcelona. I was picked up from my Barcelona hotel and provided a nice Orbea road bike. Claudio set a comfortable pace. There were only a few cars on the chosen roads and beautiful scenery. The climb to Col Formic was steady and challenging and the Montseny climb was punchy. After the ride we had a nice hearty lunch. Claudio is friendly and knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to recommend Montefusco Cycling or ride with him again.
