Additional Information

The Do Eat Better Experience culinary journey is a pedestrian exploration through the historical heart of the town. Travelers are guided by a ‘Foodie’, a local ‘buddy’ equipped to elucidate every aspect of the chosen eateries, their culinary techniques, and relevant history/trivia.

Do Eat Better Experience voyages intermix high-end gastronomy as a vehicle for showcasing local traditions and lifestyles, and a leisurely stroll with a local companion. This is why we restrict our groups to a minimal size; we aim to facilitate a genuine interaction and provide unparalleled attention to each guest.

Our gastronomical exploration in Barcelona consists of several pit stops; we will pause in a minimum of 4 distinct bars and sample the finest traditional dishes coupled with signature local drinks! You’ll be led by a local culinary aficionado, who will share fascinating details about the local gastronomic heritage.

  • Please notice that guests must be at least 18 years old to drink alcohol.

Best food tour ever! - Miguel was an incredible guide. Not only did he explain the food of the region but the history and attractions along the way. There was more than enough delicious food and our choice of beverages. Would highly recommend.

An enjoyable way to experience Barcelona - It was a lovely evening in Barcelona and the small group on the tour, only six people plus the guide Miquel, made for an enjoyable night. We stopped at four local establishments and had drinks and tapas at the first three with a concluding scoop of gelato at the fourth. We had a nice walk around the cathedral area and surrounding neighborhoods and learned about local food and customs from Miquel.

Best tapas introduction - Mercedes was a wonderful guide! She had great knowledge of the local history as well as cuisine. We plan visit the stops on the tour again they were so good! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona as a great first activity to introduce yourself to tapas culture. You learn about local drinks and deserts, not just tapas.

Delicious Tapas & Informative Tour - Wonderful shore excursion seeing much of the historical sights in the Gothic Quarter. Our guide, Mercedes, was incredibly friendly and informative. She took us to the best local spots where we tasted traditional tapas from Barcelona. I highly recommended this tour!

A great guide and tour - We had such a great time with our guide. She contacted us beforehand on WhatsApp with a photo of herself, which was useful. The tour was a good length and informative, we had the added bonus of being the only ones on the tour. The food and drink were plentiful and delicious, we fully recommend this tour and guide in Barcelona.

Dreadful food, poor organization. Plan a proper dinner after this "food tour" - We had the misfortune of having Mercedes for our guide. We showed up in time at the assembly point, which is busy city spot. Yet our guide made no effort to set herself apart from the crowd. No umbrella, no sign, no distinguishing object in hand, nothing that would suggest she is expecting a group. For the next 15 minutes she was just another person milling around the square looking just as lost as we were. Apparently she was expecting 3 people, while we had a confirmed booking for 4. Incorrect participant count, no contact information for the guide provided to us in advance by the organizer and the guide who lacks commons sense: that's 3 strikes right out of the gate. Now to the food part of the tour, which was a totally sad fare: Stop 1: deep fried anchovies, tomato salad with onions and 3 small pieces of sausage Stop 2: deep fried croquetas, deep fried potatoes Stop 3: more deep fried junk: some mystery meat inside a deep fried potato ball (aka Bomba) Stop 4: gelato, which is not even Spanish. That's it! Forget jamon. We didn't even get to try the traditional peppers or dry cured meats which were mentioned in the sample itinerary. Our tour included atrocious bottom-of-the-barrel stuff. I didn't expect gourmet food, but we paid the price of a FINE dinner in BCN for some deep-fried compost and even scantier morsels of information from the guide. We do anywhere between 15 and 25 tours a year and have a very strong reference point. This tour is an obnoxious case of profiteering and riding the gravy train in a popular tourist destination. If this tour operator had standards at one point, they clearly dispensed with them and are simply milking it. We had to have proper dinner after it.
