Explore the amazing tropical forest and fauna of the eastern part of the Sierra de Bahoruco mountain range. An off-road vehicle will take you along the scenic coastal road up into the Bahoruco mountains, leading to the world’s only Larimar mine. Discovered in 1974, this precious gemstone has since become one of the country’s most iconic souvenirs. You’ll receive a tour of the mining village, so be sure to wear non-slip shoes for the climb. You’ll also visit the Larimar workshop, where you can purchase your own Larimar stone (not included in the tour price) to take home.

Afterward, your tour continues to La Cienaga, where a hike along a botanical trail awaits. Enjoy the impressive biodiversity and learn about the local flora and fauna as you make your way to the spectacular Cueva de la Virgen cave. Please note that your shoes may get wet during the hike, as you will be walking along and across a river.
