Mount Batur Hiking with Kuas - We had Kuas with us as a guide, and he was the absolute best, really friendly, helpful and nice. One of us really had a hard time to go up the hill and he was really helpful and helped pulling her up on difficult steps for the entire trip. He gave us sticks which are really helpful to get up (and down). He was always considerate, found the best stops where to take short breaks and despite our fitness managed to get us up on time for the stunning sunrise and the promised breakfast, which was really nice. Last but not least we also got to learn from his knowledge of the surrounding landscape and history of it. Also, his photography skills are really creative and cool, so make sure you let him make some pictures of you. The only thing we regret is that we didn’t ask to do a selfie together.

Spectacular sunrise over Batur 🌄 - Immersive experience in Balinese nature. The climb is quite tiring but the sunrise from the summit rewards everything. Our guide Maanwiss very attentive, prepared and very kind especially to our 9 year old girl

Amazing Guide and Experience. - I found today’s volcano excursion very exciting and interesting. Our tour guide was very helpful and made sure to take regular breaks. He always adjusted his pace to match the hikers, and what I really appreciated was that he shared a lot about the history of the volcano. Overall, it was a fantastic day!

Mt Batur hike - I loved my hike up Mt Batur with Maanwiss. He was so relaxed, attentive and encouraging when the steep incline got a bit intense!! You must have this wonderful experience on your trip to Bali. The sunrise from the top of Mt Batur was truly spectacular and something I will never forget.

Worth Every Penny! - Fantastic trip and well worth every penny, the guide was amazing! Fair warning, arrive as early as possible to the mountain, because you'll need every minute of it because this isn't the easiest mountain, but the sights at the top are worth every muscle cramp. The good news is that you can use a motorbike to get to the top if you don't want to climb the entire way, which was a fun experience in itself.

Pleasant hike up Mt. Batur - The round trip with the shuttle went flawlessly and on time. The hike up Mt. Batur with the guide Maanwis was very impressive and adapted to the sporting level. Maanwis was able to tell many facts and interesting stories about the area and the volcano. The overall experience was a complete success. I can only recommend the experience!

Sympathetic hike to Mt Batur. - We were picked up at the hotel and brought back again. The tour guide Maanwis was very friendly. Has adapted to the athletic level and has repeatedly explored whether we still like etc.. The conversations were interesting. I can only recommend it.

Spectacular views and a sense of achievment - This is a great family experience if you have older children. It will leave you with a sense of "we did it" as you trek, - pretty vertically - up and down the mountainside. Some things to be aware of: 1. the first part of the hike will be on paths right next to the road, where zillions of jeeps come up with tourists who have booked the Sunrise jeep tours. The fumes and noise makes it feel much like walking on a motorway during peak. Bring something to cover mouth and nose if you don't love that smell of petrol in the morning. After you reach the "jeep point" it gets a lot better. 2. The hike is 1-2 hours straight up, with little to no flat, and a lot of it is vulcanic gravel/stone. Wear good shoes. All the guides seem to use a pretty "urgent" tempo, stick to your own and be vocal about how many stops you need and you'll be fine (3/5 of our family could follow the guide, 2 of us just did our own tempo. The guide made sure to stop and wait at regular intervals 3. It is cold and windy on the top, bring a backpack with extra clothes or you will be uncomfortable. I had 3-4 layers (t-shirt, thermal base layer, fleece and thin windbreaker. Long running thights and windbreaker trousers) and was still a little chilly. Warm hat and buff recommended. They will rent out blankets at the top, but I wouldn't count on their sole effect - many people looked very, very cold. 4. Bring cash for a warm drink at the top 5. The breakfast is simple: 1 hardboilded egg, banana sandwiches and a sweet , - make sure you eat beforehand or pack something if you require more. There are stalls on the way up where you can buy snacks and drinks, but not really food (at least I didn't notice). All in all I would recommend this activity for a family with reasonable fitnesslevel and stamina: the views are amazing and especially beautiful on the way down (sun up=you can see 😂). We're happy we went.
