- Mam Holidays Thailand | Bangkok City Tour | Tourism Company in Thailand | Bangkok Tours - An English-speaking guide will pick up guests from their Bangkok City area hotel lobby at 8 am and head to Ayutthaya Historical Park, also known as Ayutthaya Ruins or the Ancient City. This former grand capital, located 80 km from Ayutthaya, was destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many palaces, temples, and chedis remain standing. In 1782, Ayutthaya became the capital of Thailand. Key attractions include the impressive bronze statues of Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, and Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon.
- Bang Pa-in - The Bang Pa-In Summer Palace features a variety of striking structures set among manicured gardens, statue-lined bridges, lakes, and fountains.
- Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit - This large and eye-catching assembly hall houses Phra Mongkhon Bophit, one of the most revered Buddha images in Ayutthaya.
- Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon - Wat Phra Chao Phya-thai, commonly known as Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, is located southeast of the city. The large chedi there is visible from a great distance. This monastery was built by King U-Thong to honor the monks who studied practical Buddhism in Ceylon and to commemorate Chao Kaeo and Chao Thai, who died of cholera and were cremated in 1357.
- Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam) - Wat Lokayasutharam is located in Pratoochai District, behind the Ancient Palace and Pratoochai Primary School, near Wat Worapoh (Wat Rakhang) and Wat Worachettharam. It is 800 meters from Wat Phra Mongkon Bophit. Wat Worachettharam and Wat Worapoh are also nearby. Despite this, there was some difficulty in finding Wat Lokayasutharam, possibly due to our usually reliable Ayutthaya map being slightly inaccurate.
- Ayutthaya Historical Park - Wat Mahathat (Temple of the Great Relics) is situated almost in the center of Ayutthaya. Besides being the symbolic center where the Buddha’s relics were enshrined, Wat Mahathat was also the residence of the Supreme Patriarch or leader of the Thai Buddhist monks. The temple is believed to have been built during the 14th century A.D. (the early Ayutthaya period).
