Long drive - but worth the trek from Bangkok - It was an amazing trip. Bunting our tour guide was amazing and informative. I have been to Bangkok many times and always wanted to do this - it’s a long drive there and back, but worth it!! The hotel in Siem Reap was nice and the town was a surprise. The floating village was a real experience and early start at Angkor Wat!! Bunting our tour guide really highlighted the key history, knew where to go for views and photos. The other surprise was the nearby historic city - so much to see. I have seen many old world monuments- Great Wall, Pyramids in Egypt and temples in Mexico - this really is up there as a special place. I travelled with my son and it was a great experience. Just be prepared for the car trip - also, get your Cambodia eVisa and Thai Dtac forms in place!!!

Excellent tour with great guides. Border transition very organized. - Incredible tour with fantastic clean and roomy hotel in Seam Reap. One of the best continental breakfasts we’ve had. Our tour guide, Yuth, and the Cambodian driver was excellent. Yuth speaks English very well and was very knowledgeable. We went with 3 teenagers and they were engaged the whole time. The driver in Cambodia was very kind and took us to a wonderful restaurant with delicious dishes. He also gave us water in between temples to cool us down.
The border transition was very smooth as well. They take a picture of you and msg it to the next person so they can find you. They even have a guy inside the customs to tell you where to go. The total cost for the tourist visa is $30 per person total. There’s NOT an additional $5 for processing fee.
The ride to the border is long but the driver stops at rest stops with lots of food you can buy and restrooms. Make sure you have proper Thai currency. Most places in Cambodia take credit cards and they’ll even take Thai currency. If you use Thai currency, they’ll give you back Cambodia Riel. We didn’t want any Riel, so we used a credit card. They may charge a credit card processing fee of a few percent.

Angkor Wat -so much more than meets the eyes - The drivers and border assistants were very attentive to our experience. Our Angkor Wat guide Bunrong was very knowledgeable and shared stories and facts on the amazing sites of Angkor Wat and the floating village. He really made this tour the highlight of our trip.

Life changing journey - Short of the great pyramids, I can't imagine a more impressive work of ancient engineering. It was awe inspiring. My guide was able to tell me so much about the history, architecture, and symbology.
One of the highlight experiences of my life.

Unforgettable family trip - Really loved this trip! Everything was really well thought through, from pick up at hotel, escort through both Thailand and Cambodian immigration and passport control to the actual tour itself across the two days. Our tour guide Bun was fantastic and really knowledgeable. We had two kids and he tailored the trip to make sure that they were well engaged and having a lot of fun. Hotel was great - comfortable, friendly and food was good.
Cambodian people were so warm and friendly - really made our trip unforgettable.
Tips for trip:
- get Cambodian eVisa prior to traveling and print two copies. You will need one copy for entry and second for exiting Cambodia.
- Bring plenty of USD for spending and tips in Cambodia.
- For visit to Angkor Wat, make sure you dress appropriately. All shorts, pants, skirts need to be below the knees and shoulders covered. Kids were fine in shorts.

Great tour of Angkor - Great short tour of Cambodia, with Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap. The drivers and tour guide were fantastic, and there was so much to see. Angkor and the other temples were monumental, the free time in Siem Reap was great.

great tour! - fantastic trip! yes it is a long drive from bangkok to siem reap and back however it gives you the opportunity, particularly in cambodia, to see a lot of the more rural areas. the border crossing is fun and interesting, the lake villages, city of siem reap and of course angkor wat were fantastic! highly recommend especially if you are short on time and want a quick taste of cambodia!
my only suggestion is when we make the border crossing back into thailand it is a little hard to find the tour guide on the thailand side. might be better to co-ordinate either a meeting point or have a picture of who to look for.
also make sure you have internet - makes things easier!

Angkor 2 day tour - Overall my trip was fantastic. I’m not sure where to start. My tour guide Bunrong was a phenomenal guide. With decades of guide experience, he was able to take me to a lot of the spots most tourists seem to miss out on. His English was also the best of any foreign tour guide I’ve experienced. He was also great at asking if I was comfortable with the current activity throughout the 2 days we were together. I always had water available to me because of him as well. When I go back, I will definitely be requesting Bunrong again.

Great tour!! - This was perfect for us. Seeing the countryside and the stops were great for us. Don't expect a tour through the countryside the drivers speak little English. The hand off through the border was good. There are several people to guide you from one side to the other. They take your picture so each of them recognize you back and forth. There are signs also. We got our Cambodian visa ahead of time. Do not worry, the hotel was very very nice and the food was very good there. We waited to eat until we got to the Hotel. We had a couple hours before we went on the afternoon tour at the Lake. The tour guide was very informative and perfect for us for both tours and went at the speed we like (quick). The next day they picked us up at the early time we wanted 7. Would have picked us up earlier or later. Angkor Wat was an amazing tour and was even better than we read it was. We did this tour before we boarded a cruise ship. We waited to eat a late lunch on the cruise ship. The cruise company offered a pre extension 3 day tour which included Angkor Wat. The charge would have been $2999 each. After speaking with those who chose that option we saw much more in Bangkok and Siam Reap/Angor Wat than they did with our private tours. We spent about $1800 total for both of us from when we landed in Bangkok to arrival at our ship.

The Cambodian side had no problems, but the Thai side was full of trouble. - It was a great trip to travel from Thailand to Cambodia by land, and it was very good on the Cambodian side. Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom were magnificent and impressive as you might expect, but it was exciting to see them living on the water in Tonle Sap Lake. We have a house on the lake, and they come together to form a village, and there are schools and shops! That was the best part because I had never thought about it and, to be honest, I didn't have much expectation. The guides who spoke Japanese also worked hard and it was good. However, I was told that I needed $15 to come early to see the light at Angkor Wat, so I gave it to him, but I was a little doubtful. It said no need to worry about extra money.??? On the other hand, on the Thai side, it was a bit difficult because there was a lot of trouble. The driver didn't know where to pick us up on the first day, so he called us but only spoke Thai, and we couldn't communicate because we only spoke Japanese, English and a little Thai, so we managed to join him in Katakoto Thai. I arrived at that border without any guidance after entering Cambodia (maybe I said it in Thai?) After entering the country, I couldn't join the Cambodian driver, and I went back and forth suspiciously at the border, and as I was doing this, a man said, "Is this you?" And he showed me my picture on his phone and said, "Yes, it's me!" Finally, they joined him. From there, I was relieved to be able to communicate in English. On the second day back in Thailand, we arrived at the border and were guided in English on the Cambodian side. However, the car was in bad condition and the engine stopped many times along the way. I managed to get to the service area, where I stopped and gave first aid. "Wait five minutes," he says in Thai, waiting anxiously. When I got back to the car, it seemed like I managed to give first aid, and after that I was driving comfortably for a while. However, as he approached his home in Bangkok, the engine stopped again. He was able to get to the front of his trompe l'oeil home, but could not drive any further, so he got off and went home. I managed to get to the front of my house, so good luck moving from there! I gave him a little tip, which meant that I was going to try it.
