Great day out for the family. - We travelled out to Loch lomond sealife aquarium yesterday, 13/04/25, from East Lothian. We went there after it being recommended by a friend. The experience was fantastic and definitely the best aquarium we have been too. The tanks are clean, the fish and sea creatures are well cared for, free quizzes for the kids to whilst walking around, alot to do when inside, the rock pools that you can touch the sea creatures was a massive hit and it's well organised woth. One way system so everyone can get a turn without any pushing or shoving. There is also an octonauts cinema room there aswell to break your day up, and a look out platform so you can look out over loch lomond. What really stood out for us was how happy, friendly and approachable the staff are. The cafe is well stocked with all sorts of food, drinks, ice creams, Costa coffee etc. The cafe is clean and spacious, and again staff are very friendly and approachable. Toilets are clean and well kept. We will absolutely be returning.

Fun filled day out - A great day spent here with my boys! They loved the aquarium and the Easter egg search, my eldest is 4 and he has developed an unconditional love for sea life especially April the turtle. We finished a lovely day with a gift from the gift shop! All staff were incredibly kind and great with children, they were so knowledgeable too. We will be back! Thank you to the staff members today so kind.

The aquariums were good - Firstly, we couldn’t find the place and neither could other drivers. Google maps takes you to the rear of the building and says you have arrived. The sign saying Main Carpark appears to be for the Birds of Prey Centre, there is nothing indicating where either the Sea Life Aquarium is or the retail area. We did not appreciate being pressured into having our photograph taken on arrival and avoided the hard sell at the end. Fortunately, we enjoyed the various aquarium displays, attention seeking turtle and the manic otter. We went around twice and took our time but even then we were easily finished in under two hours. There’s a children’s cinema to help pan out the visit and okay cafe. The view of the loch from the fourth floor viewing area or cafe is spectacular.

Overpriced - Extremely overpriced! We paid £70 for a family of 4 and we were in and out in 40 minutes! The kids loved seeing the sea creatures and that was about all that was good about it.

Expensive for what you get… about an hour and a half! - What is there is pretty good and interesting. The otter section is good, but the whole thing is all too quickly over. It’s definitely an 1 and half hour (max) activity. We spent longer driving there. Upstairs was a cinema showing Octonauts on repeat, a cafe and viewing area (balcony). I was looking for a map/guide but they didn’t have one. Probably a conscious decision as it would indicate the small scale of what’s there. Stairs to the upper floors are hidden and when using them feel like they’re fire escape/back access stairs. Waiting on the lifts became a pain. Other doors were locked, which looked like their fire escape led to other aspects of the centre. Given the size of the building, it looked on the outside there might be at least a couple of hours in the place, but not the case. They try and get you for photos that they take on entering, as soon as it’s finished they’ll get you to look and buy them. The staff were nice enough and helpful when I had a couple of questions. Budget for an hour or so, not a day trip. Expensive for what you get.

Not great - Not a great selection to see, the turtle was great but that was about it. Way overpriced. We were left disappointed. Perhaps because we have visited others such as the deep which are so much superior and better value

Literally takes an hour! Expensive for what it is! - Me and my 2 teenagers visited whilst the entry fee was quite steep, I didn’t mind as I thought it would give us a bit longer in there with more to see and do! Literally done within the hour! Felt it was extremely pricey for what you get! Won’t need to return!

Overpriced and underwhelming!! - I was very dissapointed in our trip to the sealife centre. We drove 1 hour and 40 minutes from where we were staying, and although I was aware of the ticket prices online, I thought we would get a lot more for our money. There was not nearly as many fish and displays as other sealife centres I have visits, the hands on rock pool for the kids was rubbish & the tunnel under the tanks to see the fish overhead was tiny - 20 steps and your done. It cost us £60.00 for two adult and a 4 year old and we’d seen everything in less than 30 minutes. Really really overpriced for whats there, and to top it off the cafe’s on the floor which for those who are uncomfortable with lifts means its not reasonably accessable without walking 120 stairs. Would not visit again and would not recommend at all.
