- Church of the Holy Name of Jesus (1854) - In 1854, a small yet expanding Catholic community in Balik Pulau, Penang, was finally able to hold mass in a dedicated church building after nearly a decade. The first Eucharist was celebrated by French missionary Rev. Fr. Ducotey in an attap hut. Today, the church, while maintaining its original structure, has been enhanced with a parish house, a grotto, a funeral parlour, and a formation centre, all set within a natural, garden-like environment. In 2014, the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus (HNJ) Balik Pulau celebrated its 160th parish anniversary and continues to serve the parishioners of both Balik Pulau and Penang Island.
- Balik Pulau - Balik Pulau is a charming town located in the southwestern part of Penang Island, nestled between the airport and fishing villages. Known for its fruit farms, it is an unexpected location for street art. Despite this, the younger generation might seek other places to leave their visual mark. Julia Volchkova, a talented Russian artist, has also left her unique imprint here. Balik Pulau Container Art is an art installation in Balik Pulau, Penang, featuring disused containers painted with murals on one side. Located at Kampung Terang, off Jalan Pulau Betong, it was part of the Penang International Container Art Festival 2020. Artists Leonard Show, Aries Kong, and Marat Danilyan contributed to this artwork, celebrating the farming community of Balik Pulau.
- Ghee Hup Nutmeg Factory - The Ghee Hup Nutmeg Factory is operated by Mr. Chang Kun Mim and is situated in Balik Pulau, within the Teluk Bahang area of Penang. Mr. Chang has been involved in this business since he was 15, starting in 1953. His factory processes pickled nutmeg, pickled papaya, and banana chips, which are particularly delicious.
- Kampung Sungai Pinang - Sungai Pinang is a Chinese village in Balik Pulau, Penang, distinct from Kuala Sungai Pinang, another village. It is located at the intersection of Jalan Sungai Rusa, Jalan Pantai Acheh, and Jalan Teluk Bahang. The village features a Chinese primary school and a Malay primary school, with pre-war shophouses lining the streets.
The name Sungai Pinang also refers to the river that lends its name to the area. It flows westward from the central hills of Penang Island to the Straits of Malacca, differing from the Sungai Pinang that flows eastwards through Jelutong.
- Bao Sheng Durian Farm - Bao Sheng Durian Farm is a third-generation farm that employs organic farming techniques, prioritizing the health and well-being of both people and trees. Visitors can enjoy the granite hillsides and cool ocean breeze that contribute to the unique flavors of the old tree durians, distinct from other locations in Malaysia. Visit during the durian season (May to August) to taste the durians. Guests can book a night at the farm or a durian-tasting experience on the site.
