Well Worth Going - Excellent experience, loads of fun. We learnt how to cook multiple dishes, and were given the recipes so we could make them at home. We also ate what was cooked and it was delicious.

- The experience with three grandchildren aged 10, 12 and 13 was fantastic. The chef and staff were very informative and the class much more hands on than a class we had done elsewhere. To get to eat what we had reared was good. Hopefully the kids will make it again when we return home to Australia.
Loved it!

Fantastic way for our family to learn and have fun! - Such a wonderful experience! This class, including the market visit, was a real highlight of our recent trip to Bali. I loved the market visit and seeing the ingredients and experience a part of local culture, though some may find it a little hot and crowded; this didn't bother me personally (and the guide will let you know what to expect), but if you don't enjoy raw foods, and tight spaces you may like to just join the cooking portion. Chef Made was fantastic, friendly and made the experience lots of fun for our family. Such a huge variety of dishes, and I feel like I can go home and make them again (thank you for the recipe book - super helpful). It's made me realise how learning to cook local dishes links you to the travel experience, and I would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for a great day! Also such great follow-up, with photos and video provided (including the ones attached taken by the staff on the day) - these are nice to have as we were busy cooking and it's nice to have the moments captured!

Kind Staff and Fellow Participants - The class was fun and well-organized. But I specifically want to give a shout out to a couple of people. I used Grub to get a car to take me and my children to the cooking class that morning. I don't know what I did differently from usual, but when I got there, the driver said I agreed to pay cash for the ride. I didn't have any cash with me. It's only 39,000 rupiahs (about 2.5 usd). I was basically stuck and had no way to pay him. Out of desperation, I ran into the cooking class and asked one of the staff members to lend me some cash. She actually did(sorry I wrote her name down on my notes, but lost it) ! Later on, I tried to get some cash from another fellow class participant by offering to Venmo her money in exchange for some cash so I can pay the staff member back. These two ladies from Perth Australia just offered to give me the cash without me paying them back. Together they filled my heart with gratitude. I felt I have experienced humanity at its best. They all had every reason not to help me out, but they were so nice and kind, which left a long-lasting impression on me and inspired to help the next person in need.

Best cooking class on Bali - The best cultural experience so far. We started at the market to learn a little about the culture of Bali and the ingredients that we would be using in the class. Upon our return to the class we got into making our delicious feast for lunch. Our chef was with us the entire time and demonstrated/ guided us on every step. Our dishes were amazing.

Filled to bursting in Bali - We had in incredible time at Warung Nia! The market trip was really enjoyable - it definitely felt different to learn about the ingredients in the same place they're sold, rather than back at the cooking area. The class has also negotiated favorable prices for many ingredients (many of which are airplane and customs safe) - often 2-3x better than if you tried to purchase them independently. The market is crowded, so like any busy areas watch your bags, and make sure you're keeping the space clear for the regular patrons. We didn't have any troubles hearing our chef's explanations even in the busy market. The chef also provided alternatives to many Balinese ingredients that may be difficult to find in local markets back in your home country, which was also really helpful.
The cooking area itself is outside, but covered. There are fans going and water provided, so although it is warm it isn't unbearable. I recommend bringing extra water if that is a concern. Additional drinks (and souvenirs) are available for purchase as well. Lockers (with locks) are provided if you have bags or other personal belongings.
The class itself covered ~10 dishes. No one dish is done start to finish (many require several hours of marinating or slow braising), but we got to do a variety of steps that made it feel like a complete experience. We got some snacks (that we made) along the way, but don't eat too many of those! The meal at the end is way more than most tables can finish, and is all delicious.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and will happily answer questions (or jump in to ball you out if you're falling behind). Our favorite dishes to make were the nasi goreng and mi goreng, stir fried in woks over high heat. Don't get too close to the wok, as it can burst into flames (this is a good thing). The staff took photos throughout the event, which we received via WhatsApp - perfect if you're too busy cooking to grab your phone. We walked away with a certificate of completion, a recipe book covering everything we made, and full stomachs.
If you somehow have room for dinner, or if you're going to have more time in Seminyak, they also offer a 15% discount (at the time of writing) if class participants come back later. They are known for their pork ribs, that unfortunately we just didn't have the stomach space to try!
We would happily do this again and recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking (and more importantly eating). We had a variety of skill levels in our group, and everyone was able to participate safely and enjoy.
We didn't have any children in our group, but there were other tables that did and it looked like the children were able to participate as well.

Long but amazing! - Be prepared and able to be on your feet for 5+ hours. We arrived at 8am and left just after 1pm.
An amazing experience, starting with a market tour, before learning and preparing many dishes. Our head chef was knowledgeable and helpful. Other staff at the restaurant were helpful and friendly also.
