Discover the Bentota countryside, where lush fields and a fishing village offer a glimpse into both the traditional and modern lifestyles of the area. Visit a Buddhist temple and a cinnamon garden, with the first stop being the Madhu Ganga Boat ride.
The Madu Ganga wetland, featuring its estuary and mangrove islets, forms a coastal wetland ecosystem. It hosts approximately 303 plant species and 248 vertebrate animal species, and is recognized as one of the last pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.
The boat navigates through the thick mangrove forest and surrounding islets, showcasing various mangrove species, including about 10 that are unique to Sri Lanka.
Along the way, enjoy views of diverse flora and fauna, such as monitor lizards and numerous beautiful birds. The Mangrove Forest plays a crucial role in sustaining and nourishing the ecosystem.
The island inhabitants produce peeled cinnamon and cinnamon oil, offering a chance to experience this traditional craft.

Inland tours and bird watching can also be organized, offering a perfect addition to your holiday.
