Embark on our Old City tour for a delightful stroll through the heart of Baku, where architectural styles and historical events beautifully converge. As you listen to our guide, you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the harmonious blend of ancient oriental structures typical of a medieval city, the European-style mansions of early 20th-century “oil barons,” Soviet architecture, and ultramodern hotels.

Additionally, you’ll learn about the unique history of the Maiden Tower, City Walls, Monument to Lovers and Cats, Juma Mosque, Chinese Mosque, and many other significant landmarks. The culture, people, architecture, and other aspects of the Old City differ from the rest of Baku, making it “the city within a city.”

• Restaurant Old Garden - Azerbaijan Travel International is thrilled to offer the Baku Night tour to our guests. Before the tour begins, guests will enjoy a selection of national Azerbaijani dishes. Dinner will include:

1. Azerbaijan national saj, a dish traditionally served in a special pan.

2. Special Old Garden salad

3. Tea with national Azerbaijan pakhlava.

• Highland Park - The tour’s first stop is Baku’s Upland Park, the highest point in the Azerbaijani capital, offering a panoramic view of the city and its bay. It is one of Baku’s most beautiful and tranquil spots, perfect for peaceful walks.

Our guide will take you to a specific location in the park where you can enjoy a unique view of the city with its stunning lights, buildings, and attractions, including the Baku Eye, Crystal Hall, and the city Boulevard. You’ll also see buildings like the national parliament - the Milli Majlis, and the Flame Towers, which are three high-rise structures comprising a hotel, apartments, and offices. The panels between windows are horizontally covered with LED screens that display the movement of fire visible from the city’s farthest points. The lights create visual effects of torches, highlighting the towers’ main concept - “Flame Towers.”

• Mini-Venice - The next stop is Baku Boulevard, known as the sea embankment, beauty, and pride of Baku. It spans 25 kilometers of magnificent parkland with exotic trees, shopping and entertainment centers, splendid bicycle paths, and views of the Government House of Soviet Azerbaijan. The park is also renowned for its miniature version of Venice, complete with canals, bridges, and boat trips, captivating both city guests and Baku residents.

• Government House - While relaxing in this stunning park, you’ll immediately recognize one of the world’s architectural masterpieces, the Government House of Soviet Azerbaijan. This colossal structure took nearly 16 years to build during Azerbaijan’s time under Soviet rule. Historical evidence suggests that German prisoners of war were used in its construction.

• Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center - The Baku Night tour concludes with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center, a masterpiece of modern architecture in the deconstructivist style by the “Queen of Curved Lines,” Zaha Hadid. The center’s grounds feature a magnificent park with green lawns and snow-white footpaths that wind past original sculptures and compositions, the most famous being the “I Love Baku” sculpture, a favorite among city visitors.
