Highlights
  • World’s First Oil Well - Azerbaijani historians have discovered documents in Russian archives that confirm an oil well was drilled at the Bibi-Heybat field near Baku in 1846. This well is considered the world’s first, predating commercial oil production in the US by 13 years.
  • Bibi-Heybat Mosque - Bibi-Heybet (aunt of the stern) is a ‘pir’ located near the mountains of Baku within a large cemetery. The tomb of Bibi-Heybet, a relative of the Prophet Muhammad, is situated in a grand mosque frequently visited by Muslims. Bibi-Heybet is renowned for her miraculous healing powers. Many Muslims wish to be buried near this mosque.
  • Mud Volcanoes - A mud volcano is a geological formation featuring a hole or depression in the earth’s surface, or a cone-shaped elevation with a crater, from which mud and gases are continuously or periodically erupted. These volcanoes are primarily found in oil-rich and volcanic regions.
  • Gobustan Rock Art - Gobustan is one of the world’s most renowned historical and archaeological reserves, serving as an open-air museum with a vast collection of invaluable historical artifacts.
  • Ateshgah - Fire Temple - The “Ateshgah” Fire-worshipper temple dates back to the second and third centuries. During this period, Zoroastrianism spread in Azerbaijan, leading to the construction of Zoroastrian temples in the region. The Ateshgah temple in Surakhani was active until the 7th century, when Islam was adopted in Azerbaijan.
  • Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - Yanardag is one of the most remarkable natural attractions on the Absheron Peninsula. It is a flaming mountainside that cannot be extinguished by rain or sand and has been burning for millennia. The awe-inspiring fiery landscape is easily explained: natural gas is released from the upper layers of soil and ignites upon contact with oxygen.

Super interesting tour - It was a perfect experience to discover the surroundings of Baku, including history, culture, and landscape. We had the most competent guide, Reza, who was fluent in both English and Russian and seemed to know everything about the sights and Azerbaijan history and culture. We were a group of four friends and enjoyed the time we had on the tour.

All in One tour to see the highlights around Baku - The tour was perfectly organized, we saw everything that was according to plan, the lunch was included in a local restaurant and vegetarian options were available. But what really made it special was our guide Reza - he is very knowledgeable not only about the places we visited, but also in history, literature, philosophy, etc, it was a pleasure to converse with such a cultured person! We reccomend this trip to anyone looking to explore the sights out of Baku!

Important insight into Azerbaijan - It's the first time that I've been on such tour, but it was worth every penny! The guide Reza was fluent in English (as well as Russian and even German), and had a very engaging way of telling facts about Azerbaijani history and culture. The tour was of perfect duration, perhaps even a little too long in the end. We got to see all stops with plenty of time to take pictures and explore. This tour really helped us to see Baku from outside the city center, and learn a lot about it as well. If you're curious about religion and secularism, or how the rich earth has provided Azerbaijan with a historical role in oil extraction, this tour is definitely a must have. Lastly, the lunch was very delicious. However, everything else you must bring yourself, and we ended up drinking all four 1,5 l bottles of water that we brought.

A great experience however coukd have been made much better. - The Positives. 1. Excellent and Knowledgeable guide Mr. Reza. 2. Vide coverage of Baku. 3. Good lunch as was not expecting anything great but still good food. 4. Timely routine and management ensured that we get enough time at each sight. 5. Timely pickup from Hotel. The Negatives. 1. Company should atleast include water bottles on the trip as it was really hot on the day and being with kids it gets difficult. 2. Air condition of the vehicle was not at all working properly and it went hotter as the day went by. 3. Drop off was not included in the tour which was a let down since after the hectic day it gets very difficult dor someone visiting from another country to hop off and manage a ride back.

Precarious. - Picking up and drop not complied. I had to pay taxi drivers abnormal manats. Most drivers refused me as it was night and my hotel route was not suitable to them. I had no manats in my possession. No atm I found nearby. To find atm took long time and moving all around. Even local people did not understand my appeals. Your guide did not not help me to find taxi. As it is my miserable condition people directed me wrongly to find taxi and they enjoyed my helpless condition. I am old one. My body in infirm. My vision is not strong. If you told me earlier that you have no Picking and dropping arrangements I might not turn up. You vehicle had no cooling. Vehicle broke down midway where no amenities in scorching sun for long time. Vehicle driver left me at end in very inhuman condition. So you are genius. It is for 12 Jul 2024 and you took 7200 rupees on 14th Jul 2024. This was absurd rate of victimization to a tourist like me. Yes you are magnificent. Thanks.
