- Palace of the Shirvanshahs - This renowned palace from the 1400s consists of five distinct sections. It’s a perfect destination for those interested in the region’s culture, architecture, and traditions. Construction of the main building began in 1411. Visitors can enter through the portal to reach the Divankhana, a stone pavilion in the courtyard. The mausoleum, designed by architect Memar Ali, serves as a burial site. The Palace Mosque, built in the 1430s, and the bathhouse with 26 unique rooms are also part of the complex.
- Maiden Tower - The Maiden Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is situated in Baku’s walled city and known locally as Giz Galasi. Built in the 12th century, this iconic structure stands out in the city’s skyline. Visitors can explore the museum inside to learn about the city’s history, culture, and evolution. Climbing to the top offers stunning views of the Caspian Sea and the city.
- Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum - Located in the heart of Azerbaijan, this museum houses one of the world’s largest collections of rugs and carpets. Visitors can explore halls filled with colorful tapestries showcasing various weaving techniques and materials from the nation’s history. Since 2014, the museum has been in a newly renovated building, displaying around 10,000 items, including a significant collection from the Shusha Museum of History, which features 600 carpets from a city devastated by Armenian troops in the early 1990s. A bookstore and occasional public lectures enhance the experience.
- Ferris Wheel - Positioned on a boulevard with views of the Caspian Sea, the Baku Ferris Wheel (Baku Eye) provides panoramic city and coastal views. Originally built for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Azerbaijan, it has become a prominent city attraction.
- Little Venice - “Little Venice” in Baku Boulevard is a picturesque area with islands connected by stone bridges and gondolas navigating clean water channels. Established in 1960 and expanded to 10,000 sq.m., it features two restaurants offering Western and Eastern cuisine. Visitors can enjoy peaceful gondola rides and delicious meals while taking in the serene atmosphere near the Caspian Sea.
