Connect with the soul of the Dominican Republic as you travel atop an ATV deep into the hilly countryside, take in storybook vistas, pay a visit at a typical Dominican country home, and take a grand-finale plunge into its soothing ocean waters. First, arrive by open-air truck to your staging location where you’ll pick up your own easy-to-handle ATV. After a “Thumbs up!” you’re off exploring the little-known trails and seeing the gorgeous Puerto Plata views. Ride along rugged paths that take you past charming villages, and get a snapshot feel of what their day is like. Then stop to say “Olá!” at a typical country home. Experience the warmth of the friendly Dominican people and learn a bit about their rural lifestyle. Discovering can be dirty work! At the end of your ATV adventure, head to a secluded cove for a refreshing swim or soak in the invigorating waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
- All participants should be at least 18 years old and carry proof of a valid driver’s license
- All participants should weigh no more than 250lbs
- The ride to the location is bumpy and as such this tour is not recommended for pregnant women or persons with back and/or neck injuries
- The sequence of the activities is determined by the flow of daily operations, and as such is not based on the guests’ preference
- Helmets are mandatory for all tours and as such hairstyles should be worn to accommodate the use of this safety equipment.

Amazing fun and thrilling - The best ATV ride experience ever . We loved the staff they made it so fun and safe. We were covered in mud and loved every minute of it. Then we went and washed off in the ocean it was beautiful. We really loved this place and highly recommend it.

Do the Family and Friends ATV Adventure - Our group of 7 did this tour when our cruise stopped in Puerto Plata. Despite challenges including delays due to traffic and the weather, our group thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The transport team and ATV guides were 10/10 on professionalism, they were knowledgeable, kind and patient. Had a great time, a nice meal, and a fun ride. I highly recommend.

Fanuel, Wilsense and this excursion for the win! - Our day began with Wilsense telling us all about the DR and what our day with them would look like. He was phenomenal, educational, hilarious and incredibly welcoming. Our excursion group was large so when we got to Coconut Cove they split us into two: one group went to the ATVs first, the other to the beach. Received our welcome drink, rented our locker, walked the beautiful sandy beach, sat in the chairs under the awesome umbrellas. The beach staff even took our photos with the DR flag (thank you all!)
Once our turn for the ATVs came, Julia, Fanuel, Mario and Denis were our guides. Julia let us know what was about to go down and went over the safety rules. Fanuel took us on our intro laps and we hit the trail.
We got to Tia Trina’s house where Mario told us about the country and traditional rural living. Fanuel and Denis chatted with us and walked us around the property. Fanuel took additional time to answer my questions, tell us how much he enjoyed his job and how it helped him learn English as a second language.
Then we whipped it on back to the quads and the gift shop. Drank some mamajuana shots, ate some jerk chicken, drank some rum in a coconut and took another awesome drive back to the port with Wilsense.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CREW. Shout out Fanuel and Wilsense!

TAKE THIS TOUR! Great excursion! - Take this tour! We have cruised many times and have done many excursions. This by far was our favorite!! So much to do in a single excursion. Drive/tour on the way there and back (road is bumpy so be aware of this), drive your own ATVs, visit the home of a local, professional photographers and photo stops, restaurant with great local food, clean bathrooms, and a beach with chairs and umbrellas. Worth the money for sure! We had great tour guides. Willensley, Anderson, Julie, Mario, "Luigi", etc. Great group. Nice location. Super fun off-roading! But wear older clothes and shoes. If it has rained you WILL get a little muddy. But it's worth it!

ATV ride in the Dominican Republic forest and beach! DO THIS!!! - This tour was awesome! We had Evelis as a tour guide and it was so much fun! Getting out in the Dominican forest on the ATVs was an absolute blast! The stops were amazing! We got to tour a traditional house in the DR, and have traditional coffee on the ride, then hit the beach to end the day. Cannot recommend this enough! Everyone was SO nice and friendly. I would absolutely do this tour again. 100/10!

Felt the love at coconut cove - Did this tour through wild truck adventure under Holland America cruise line, but for some reason wouldn’t let me write a review under the wild truck. Regardless was a fantastic trip, very educational and the locals that ran the tour were super enthusiastic and accommodating. Really felt like you were getting a true Dominican experience en route to Coconut Cove. The beach itself was great with a tasty Dominican buffet, cheap drinks and lots of beach chairs. Didn’t do the zipline or atv that were offered at this place but everyone who was participating looked like they were having a blast. Highly recommend

My experience could’ve been better - I went with Alejate con Ale group on dec 21st; as a guide I had Marvin that works for Chukka he was excellent and I have no complains, he answered all of my questions; when we arrived we were given a time to be at a meet spot and we were there for an hour and a half waiting for someone to take us to the zip line, we were told that we couldn’t start there because the lines are too slow and there was a bunch of others waiting in line, they told us that they would see if we could start with the buggy ride which was also a total fiasco because our group got divided into 2; some were able to enjoy the ride and stop for pictures with Famuel as a guide but the other half that was with Mario wasn’t able to stop and get pictures that ride was cut shorter. After the ride we were supposed to go to the zip line again but that didn’t happen because there was too many people and the lines were slowed according to what they told the staff from Alejate con Ale; so they took us to eat the food was amazing 10/10 recommend. Finally we are able to go to the zipline and with us was another group that had just arrived and they wanted them to go before us cause they still had to go on their buggy ride, that caused a little disagreement between us and the zipline staff Enmanuel because they wanted us to let them go; while on the zipline we found out that the lines have actually been going fast the whole entire day according to their staff and they were just letting others go before we actually had to go, not saying they are discriminating but they should treat everyone the same specially cause we arrived on time. They need to be more coordinated. Special shout out to Marvin that despite everything that happened he always gave his face to us and tried his best but he can’t control the zipline guides.

WORST EXCURSIONS EVER - Worst excursions I've ever been on. It took an hour and half to get from the pier to the ATV coconut cove, the Ride was horrible it was muddy, with holes all over the dirt road. We were in this old transporter and bouncing all over the place. The seats were hard as rocks, my ass was killing me. The ride ATV were in horrible condition and the ATV was not even an hour long. The ride total in this transporter back and forth was 3 hrs. Do yourself a favor stay on the ship or do something else. HUGE MISTAKE. We booked this with Royal Caribbean.
