Fantastic - Charlie was fantastic. It was just my husband and I for the tour. His knowledge of the island was amazing. Seeing the local neighborhoods and learning of the ways of life was interesting. I loved the little beach and bar/restaurant that we stopped at. My only regret was not bringing my bathing suit along to take a dip in the beautiful water.

Informative and fun time - Charlie was great! He provided us with a a ton of information and history about Grand Bahama. He took us places we would have never known about on our own. Stops at a couple of Markets gave us time for souvenir shopping, snacks and drinks, and a 2 hour stop at a beach club for beach time and a nice lunch was great.

Mamma Gals Awesome Native Experience - We got off our ship not knowing what we were going to do as we hadn't booked an excursion. In asking about the Mamma Gal Native Experiences I had read reviews about, we met Irene, who ended up being our guide. She took us to an awesome Farmers Market, lighthouse, and to the best restaurant on the island with its own private beach. She drove us around between stops explaining how the generational areas are set up, how the government works and showing and telling us about various landmarks. Irene was a wealth of information, answered all our questions and we had an amazing time with her. This experience was so much more than we expected. I recommend it 1000%! We had so much FUN!!!

Culture, History and the beach - We absolutely loved this tour. Irene took us around the island introducing us not only to the Lucaya Marketplace and the beach but also to the culture of the island. Learning about the different areas of Grand Bahama Island, their government and history was exactly what we were looking for. And then to end the trip at Banana Bay with conch fritters was the best way to top it off. Definitely try the Guava Daquiri!

The Real Deal Best Tour! - Our 3 generation party ranging from 81 to 23 years old all really enjoyed this tour. This included seeing and learning about several local villages, a 300 year old light house, and visiting a rocky beach strewn with shells left by conch fishermen (free souvenirs!). We also got a glimpse of how the wealthiest 1% live, primarily celebrities with vacation homes. We learned of past and present primary industries and economic drivers in the Bahamas. Tourism is actually relatively new. We ate conch fritters and had delicious tropical drinks. We enjoyed a short stop at beautiful Taino Beach. We passed on getting the fresh conch salad there, but I suggest others eat a light breakfast in order to enjoy that local specialty. There were 4-5 stops where we got out and looked around, and most had restrooms that were clean. Charlie, our tour guide, was wonderful and answered all our questions. He's been doing this for more than 35 years, so there's no stumping him! The only slight constructive criticism would be to skip the straw market near the end of the tour since we'd already been to another souvenir market earlier on the tour. Kudos to Charlie though for helping the local economies around the island. The vendors are chill; no pressure about sales as experienced in other places in the Caribbean. This is a 2 thumbs up and 5 star tour, and a great value for the price. I recommend it without any hesitation.

What a great experience! - Charlie was fantastic! He orchestrated a wonderful day for the five of us on his tour. We saw several diverse sections of the Freeport area with ample time to experience the local culture, indulge in delicious Bahamian food and beverages, relax and have lunch at an exquisite. secluded beach away from the tourist areas, while allowing time on the way back to the Margaritaville ship for a stop at the Sands Brewery and Shop at our request. Charlie is a great guide.... friendly, fun and informative! Don't hesitate to reserve this tour, it is a great way to enjoy your visit to Freeport.

Great tour of the city - We had Charlie as our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight for us was stopping at the rocky beach in the fishing village and picking up a conch shell that we got to take back with us. It was cool to see the buildings, the marketplace, and the lighthouse. The complimentary conch fritters were delicious! We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the city of Freeport.

It was just okay - This tour was just okay. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. There was a mix up with my tour. I didn’t get to see the light house or the fisher’s man area to see the live conk. We didn’t have time to go fruit market to sample the fruit because we had to head back to the cruise terminal. The cruise ship doesn’t allow you bring food back to ship so of course we couldn’t buy any fruit. The only part of the tour I did enjoy was going to the Banana Beach club. The beach was fantastic. Great food & beautiful relaxing beach. I wish I would’ve just took a cab from the cruise port & just stayed at the Banana Bay Beach club all day. The worst part of the tour was going to Lucayan Market place. Some of the locals were rude if you didn’t buy anything. My suggestions for a better tour would be to have a tour guide who is more upbeat & friendly. Our tour guide was nice but he was a bit monotone & boring. Maybe he was having a bad day because based on the other reviews he was great with others.
