Fabulous. - Fascinating background to Georgia and its people. Our guide, 'K' had an encyclopedic knowledge of Georgian wine and Georgian history. Hit just the right balance of conversation and quiet thought couldn't recommend enough. Fabulous wine tasting locations and a full ten hour, 300 km trip.

Great experience - A long day with many interesting stops. We learned a lot about both baking, natural sweets and, not least, wine production. Lots of good wines and very nice hosts. Our guide, Alexandre, is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely friendly and patient.

Authentic Georgia - If you want to discover the real essence of Georgia, this is the tour for you! As part of a private tour we were emerged into the local traditional side of Georgian food and wine and enjoyed every single moment of this tour. Our driver and our tour guide, the two Georgi's were absolutely the best! Their love for their country and the knowledge of its history was excellent. They take you into authentic Georgia and give you an experience that is unforgettable. They share what it means to be Georgian with you and this gives a personal touch to a tour that truly is unique. From having bread and cheese next to the road to stopping at a beautiful vantage point where we bought peaches from a local fruit seller, this was a trip worth taking. The winemaker/owner at Okro's is somebody that clearly has a love for her wines, she is not shy to give you a general helping in tasting and really spoiled us with a great experience. She shares each bottle and its story with you, showing her profound knowledge on wine making. She is the sweetest human being and combined with the a breathtaking view, this felt like home. Lunch with the family was intimate and truly an experience, the food is delicious and the flavors beyond compare. The collection of old antiques and the history around the family, their house and what they are trying to build is inspiring. Visiting the cellar in the old Soviet bunker is truly the perfect way to end the trip and you get to experience the more touristy side to Georgia here. It is really something to walk into the old bunker that is now an operational wine cellar and be amazed by what can be achieved. I cannot recommend this tour enough and would do it again in a heartbeat should I return to Georgia. Best of luck to our Georgian friends.

Arrive as guests but leave as friends. - A wonderful day spent in the Kakhetsi Region of Georgia. Our guide Tstotne, from Traffic Travel LLC was referred to us by friends and we are so happy we took their recommendation to make use of his services. Tstotne's knowledge of the region and the various forms of wine making practised in the area were most insightful. The hospitality of the wine makers in the area is exceptional and sharing a meal at Salome's family winery was special. This tour is one where you arrive as guests but leave as friends. Highly recommended.

Great tour, strongly recommended. Worth every dollars - Shota was an amazing guide and the program was marvelous. Great wine tasting with a phenomenal view of Kakheti, followed by more wine tastings and local luch at a traditional house. Two thumbs up and highly recommended!

The best way to experience Kakheti wine - This tour delivered everything as promised, culture, food and of course wine! Our tour guide Shota did a fantastic job explaining the history and traditions of the region with wine and food tastings for our group. It’s a full day and you will drink a lot of wine! We could see at the first stop that the bread fresh from the oven and the cheese pairing was so delicious. The location of the first wine tasting was breathtaking and the wine itself was very good, plus the descriptions from the winemaker made it seem much more personal. The meal at our lunch stop was the best Georgian food we ate all week, very fresh and of course served with wine (and chacha). I would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to sample and learn about the wines of Kakheti, how they are made, the different types of grapes, and what makes Georgian wine unique.

Journey of discovery to the "origin of wine" - We took this day trip as a group of four wine lovers. Our tour guide Otto and his chauffeur picked us up in the morning in a modern mid-range car that was not very big for six people, and the two of them did everything to make this day an experience for us on a 320-kilometer round trip. Otto spoke excellent English and always gave us extensive and very personal information about the country and its people. At small stops at street stalls and up to the first big wine tasting in the picturesque Kakhetian provincial town of Sighnagi, Otto bought local specialties and had them tasted on the spot: freshly baked "Georgian baguette" with local feta-like cheese and devilishly hot sauces for dipping or, for a change, various sweet fruits covered in chocolate. But of course our curiosity focused on the famous Kakhetian wines. There were three opportunities for this: first, at the "Okro" winery on a beautiful terrace high above the town of Sighnaghi, close to fortification walls and watchtowers - six different professionally presented wines of exquisite quality. Less than an hour later, we were invited to lunch by a Georgian family in a small village with an unpronounceable name, which was served to us with all imaginable authenticity and hospitality. Two simple country wines were the counterpoint for our palate and of course "Chacha", the Georgian vodka, was not to be missed. As a third wine stop, we were able to visit the wine tunnel of the large "Khareba" winery in Kvareli. As impressive as these cellars were visually, the half-hour tour given by the students employed there was characterized by routine and assembly line information and the tasting was also limited to just two wines of average quality - firstly, we would have liked to have tasted more and secondly, higher quality wines. As a consolation, we bought one of the winery's more expensive signature wines in the shop and, thanks to the drinking glasses we had brought with us, enjoyed tasting it during the next hour's drive. Finally, despite the feared construction sites and announced diversions, we were able to enjoy the direct route over the Gombori Pass to Tbilisi - a scenic experience that we would have hated to have missed. A big thank you to our guide Otto and his daring but always focused driver for this eventful day.
