Excellent choice for Alexandria day trip with Mohamed Salama - We booked a day trip for Alexandria from Cairo. Communication and coordination for pick up was prompt. Mohamed Salama was our guide in Alexandria. His passion for history and hospitality is evident from the way he takes care of his guests. We are vegetarians and he ensured that we lunch at a vegetarian friendly place. Mohamed was cheerful and extremely knowledgeable not just about Alexandria but about Egyptian history in general. Mohamed is pursuing his PhD and I’m confident that Alexandria University would be lucky to have him as a Professor.

Touring Alexandria with Hany Schalhoob - I enjoyed very much the Alexandria trip with my guide Mr. Hany Schalhoob! He was excellent in choosing sights of historical meanings and significance, suggesting local foods, as well as suggesting beach activities. I did swimming in the Mediterranean Sea with comfortable water temperature under the winter sun. Hany kindly walked with me to the downtown area, the monument of unknown soldiers in the evening under nice lighting! He is very considerate and caring besides knowledgeable about Egyptian history. I highly recommend him for future travelers.

Fun day with a super knowledgeable and easygoing guide - Mohamed was a fantastic guide - an Alexandria native who has advanced education in Greek history and hieroglyphics and who has an easy friendly manner. He accommodated our ask for a quick stop at a pharmacy, got all our tickets and arranged an included lunch. He was able to answer all our questions and made it fun. I can recommend without reservation.

Cairo to Alex Day Trip - My tour didn’t start off the best. Mainly due to lack of provided information. The start time I selected was 0700 and the day before the trip when it was too late to cancel. The company reached and said they’ll pick me up at 6AM. I said that’s too early and didn’t select that time. Rawy then proceeded stated it’s not that early, we also have to pick up other people and your hotel is first so we have to get you esrly in order to pick everyone else up by 7am. I believe this should’ve been advised prior to the start of the tour. I think we not ready by 6am which I had previously explained the day before and they continu d to press on about 6am. I finally start the tour and then air the long journey to Alexandria or Alex as they call it. Mohammed is orally the only reason the review isn’t a zero/one star. Mohammed was highly knowledgeable and explained things in great detail. Negatives with the tour were ere a few stops came off slightly useless, we went to an unfinished mosque and took off our shoes and had to tip to get our shoes back, it felt like extortion and I didn’t like that. The duration of your left me starving for the entire day. I didn’t have time to eat breakfast due to extremely start time. We also didn’t stop for breakfast. Lunch was also switched to the end of the tour as dinner. We ate approximately 430pm. The tour should incorporate some form of snack time or lunch since we are doing a lot of walking and 12 hours without food was unacceptable. Alex is extremely far so be prepared and the van was uncomfortable, especially in the first row. It har some for of a custom cup holder clack which took all the leg room. Luckily I was the only one in The row and could get outback my legs in a diff direction.

Whirlwind Tour of Alexandria - For a day trip from Cairo this is a good way to get a feel for Alexandria. Was a long-ish but uneventful trip from Cairo. Not much scenery to look at besides a few palm trees and the occasional buildings. Hit a lot of the Alexandria highlights and have a good feel of life in the city. I generally prefer fast-paced tours but this was turbo-charged. Once in Alexandria the whole day was broken down in 10-25 minute segments. I personally love history and appreciate tours to come away with a good story. Because of the quick pace I never really felt like the tour was able to covey the unique/rich history of the city founded by Alexander the Great.

It was a good and... - It was a good and worthwhile trip but I felt a lot of information was lacking from the tour guide and some stops were unnecessary. We missed out on the city ruins which was a shame.
