Highly recommended! - This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our guide, Amelia, was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the entire trek. She shared helpful tips and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The route itself was stunning, with breathtaking views and just the right level of challenge. If you're looking for a memorable outdoor adventure with a guide who truly cares, this is the one. Highly recommended!

Best Experience in Terceira! - The Mistérios Negros hike was our favorite part of the trip to Terceira! The natural scenery throughout the trail was stunning and unique, and having to occasionally use both hands and feet to get past obstacles made the experience even more fun. Our guide, Amélia, was very patient, she always gave us a heads-up when there were slippery or unstable spots, and her explanations about the island were both engaging and informative. She brought great energy to the whole journey. We took part in three tours with Azores Nature Tours during our stay in Terceira, and every single one of them was perfect! :)

Scenic and fun hike - Our afternoon hiking with James was a lot of fun! My sister and I were part of a small group, with five people total plus the guide. The trail was very scenic. It was challenging in parts, but not too hard. There were lots of roots to step over and big steps up or down at some points. One woman used a walking stick and the rest of us held onto trees at times to balance. The guide James gave lots of great information about the area and why the trail is unique. He kept the mood friendly in our group and we enjoyed meeting fellow travellers. We would highly recommend this trail to people who like to be active and enjoy nature.

Hike through the interior - Great experience, James took us around a beautiful interesting route. He was informative and personable. The trail had a great variety of views from lava fields to meadows, ponds and forest. Thoroughly enjoyed. Need descent hiking shoes or trail runners and a bottle of water. Took us 2 1/2 hours.

Spectacular visit with fantastic and attentive Guide - The Guide Amélia was tireless and extremely attentive with the group, explaining each step of the route and some secrets of the island of Terceira. An experience to repeat!

Awesome hike up into the mountainous and volcanic terrain of Terceira - This was our second tour with Amelia. The first one was the around the island familiarization tour when we first arrived. Amelia is an amazing source of island information. We thoroughly enjoyed this hike through the interior of Terceira and highly recommend this company and this guide!!

Go on this hike, it's worth it! - What a nice trail! Unique and beautiful. You do a bit of climbing over rocks, but there is a path that makes it easier then it sounds. The guides are very friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to lend you a steady hand. Go on this hike, it's worth it.

Go for it! You won't be sorry :) - Today I walked the Misterios Negros trail. Next to the fact Azores Nature Tours were able and flexible to squeeze me in last minute, even picked me up from my hotel at Praia for just a little extra, it was amázing! So incredible beautiful and the guide (Girl with The Blue Hair) seemed to feel effortlessly how to guide me and my fellow participant. She gave us trust, both in our own ways, to conquer the trail :) I felt no rush what so ever, we were able to determine the rhythm. If one of us wanted to take a picture, súre, stop for a drink, fíne:) I had the best time with a beautiful radiant uplifting guide :)

Misterios Negros hike with James - James was an entertaining and informative guide. He is clearly very knowledgable and passionate about his profession, the nature, history and life on the island. He also provided numerous recommendations for other sights, activities and places to eat; even calling in a reservation for us at the very popular Beira Mar fish restaurant on the Sao Mateus marina (highly recommended!) The trail itself is one of the best I've ever hiked; difficult in some parts but overall moderate difficulty; an absolute must do while in Teceira and highly recommended to do it with Azores nature tours.

Beautiful but strenuous hike - The hiking trail is very nice, but mega strenuous (or rather annoying), as more than half walk on a very narrow path over tree roots and lava stones, where you have to constantly look where you are stepping and sometimes you have to go up and down over large stones. Overall very beautiful nature and we took 2 hours from the parking lot at Lagoa Negra as a circular hike (just over 5 km).
