Well we were the tourist that sadly did not think it was necessary to take a golf cart to get to the gardens. We wanted to make sure the e We decided to walk which was a mistake and took hours. We noticed lots of people on their carts driving to the botanic garden an then quickly coming right back. By the time we got there, and hour walk, no one was posted at the gate to greet us or tell us where to go. We paid online like good citizens when it seemed like we shouldn’t have bothered since there was no one managing the entrance and no other visitors were trying to pay. The gardens were hardly managed. Just a bunch of cacti and succulents that don’t need any help, and weren’t all that pretty. The monument is unfortunately a historical joke. Some rich guy built it for himself. It was not being kept up either. The only think I enjoyed were the paper like poppies with yellow centers which were so unique, giant and gave off a sweet smell. The bees adored them also. Other than that , we regret making any effort going to this garden.
